The role will lead the commercial function within Americas. You will effectively manage commercial opportunities and risk in collaboration with the Americas management team. An effective communicator who will lead and develop key stakeholder relationships to build vendor management programs supporting the operational requirements of our Americas Design and Construction team. An experienced individual who has the knowledge and working experience of the Project Control functions within the industry but also with a specific commercial background. \nYou are a strong believer in the transformative power of technology and equally, the importance of everyday interpersonal connections and listening. You are a team player, with ambition to grow into an engaging and motivating leader, capable of creating the conditions for people to deliver and realize their potential. \nMain Responsibilities \nContract Strategy & Contract Management: \nLead and oversee the execution of supply chain procurement within the Design & Construction phase within Americas. Working closely with our procurement department to ensure governance & compliance are adhered to at all times. \nLead and oversee all aspects of contract management through the Design & Construction lifecycle in Americas. Including drafting negotiation and administration. \nEnsure compliance with our global head of terms when negotiating all vendor contracts, developing an Americas specific version to ensure efficiency in the negotiation process. \nCollaborate with our Legal Director - Americas, to ensure contracts align with company policies and legal requirements. \nCost Management:\nLead Americas cost control efforts throughout the project lifecycle, from capex estimating and target setting/budgeting to monitoring and reporting. \nAccountable for ensuring all projects are compliant with purchase orders, Invoicing and Receipting \nImplement strategies to optimize project costs and schedules on projects, while ensuring Safety and Quality are not compromised \nDevelop and maintain accurate cost databases and historical cost data for reference. \nTrack all projects estimate at completion against approved budgets, providing regular updates to stakeholders to ensure cost control. \nTake ownership & report against the projects contingency ensuring Design & Construction Americas are adhering to the approval process. \nHave a firm understanding of Americas capex trends. \nFoster our design to cost and schedule approach, leading from the front with innovative solutions. \nRisk Management: \nIdentify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with all Americas projects. Own the commercial risks and drive the project teams to mitigate the commercial impacts. \nWork closely with project teams to develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans. \nEnsure all commercial risk mitigation plans are completed in collaboration with the scheduling team and the VP of Design & Construction Americas to ensure that our strategies remain focused on schedule optimization \nTeam Leadership:\nCreate & lead a high-performing commercial management team within Americas. \nProvide mentorship and guidance to team members, fostering professional growth and development. \nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective communication and alignment of commercial objectives. \nBe the Americas point of escalation for any Vendor commercial concerns and proactively create and maintain relationships with counterpart commercial teams. \nReporting and Analysis:\nPrepare and present comprehensive reports to executive leadership, highlighting project financial performance, risks, and recommendations. \nUtilize data analytics to identify trends and opportunities for improvement. \nEnsure all reports are issued aligned to the reporting timetable set by Group. \nOversee and review all cashflow reporting for the Design & Construction Americas business unit. \nOversee all Americas project debt and equity utilization requests, ensuring the team is compliant with all financing agreement obligations. \nResponsible for developing a project controls function.\nQualifications\n/ Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Construction Economics, Business, Finance, or related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.\n/ 15+ years of progressive experience in Contracts and Cost Management within the construction industry. \n/ Proven experience in Risk Management with a strong understanding of risk assessment and mitigation strategies. \n/ Extensive knowledge of construction contracts, legal frameworks, and industry best practices. \n/ Exceptional leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to build and motivate high performing teams. \n/ Strong communication and negotiation skills.\n/ Ability to travel as needed to support regional projects.\nAt Yondr, we want to enhance the diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging of our workforce to reflect the world we live in.
