This role oversees freight operations across all transportation modes, manages relationships with freight forwarders and carriers, ensures trade compliance through proper HTS classification, validates Advanced Shipping Notices (ASN), and audits freight invoices for accuracy. The Logistics Manager plays a critical role in supporting customer service, inventory accuracy, and supply chain performance.\nPRIMARY DUTIES\nTransportation & Freight Management\nManage all domestic and international freight operations, including truckload (TL), less-than-truckload (LTL), ocean, air, parcel, and intermodal shipments. \nDevelop and execute transportation strategies that optimize cost, service, and transit times. \nCoordinate inbound and outbound shipments to meet customer delivery requirements and production schedules. \nMonitor carrier performance, on-time delivery, freight claims, and service levels. \nIdentify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to reduce freight costs and improve logistics efficiency. \nInternational Logistics & Trade Compliance\nManage international import and export shipments, ensuring compliance with applicable customs regulations and trade requirements. \nServe as the primary point of contact for freight forwarders, customs brokers, and international carriers. \nMaintain and validate Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classifications for imported materials and products. \nEnsure accurate documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and shipping instructions. \nMonitor regulatory changes affecting international trade and customs compliance. \nFreight Forwarder & Carrier Management\nEstablish and maintain strong relationships with freight forwarders, brokers, and transportation providers. \nNegotiate rates, service agreements, and transportation contracts. \nConduct periodic carrier performance reviews and identify alternative transportation solutions when necessary. \nResolve shipment exceptions, delays, customs holds, and freight claims.\nASN Management & Shipping Accuracy\nValidate and monitor Advanced Shipping Notices (ASN) for accuracy and completeness. \nEnsure shipment data transmitted to customers and trading partners aligns with actual shipments. \nCollaborate with warehouse, customer service, and IT teams to resolve ASN discrepancies. \nDrive improvements in shipping accuracy and customer compliance metrics.\nFreight Invoice Auditing & Cost Control\nReview and audit LTL, parcel, and freight invoices for billing accuracy. \nValidate freight charges against contracted rates and approved accessorial fees. \nInvestigate and resolve billing discrepancies with carriers and freight providers. \nMonitor freight spend and provide regular reporting on transportation costs and savings opportunities. \nSupport budgeting and forecasting activities related to logistics expenses.\nReporting & Performance Metrics\nDevelop and maintain logistics KPIs, including: \nFreight cost per pound/unit shipped \nOn-time delivery performance \nCarrier scorecards \nFreight claims performance \nASN accuracy \nCustoms compliance metrics \nPrepare monthly reports and presentations for leadership. \nAnalyze transportation data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities. \nFoster Cooperation\nActively engage with our National Accounts and Marketplace customers to address opportunity.\nPromote collaboration by actively sharing expertise and communicating. \nResponsible for corporate communication as it relates to logistics. \nConsistently and proactively involves all stakeholders in plans and decisions. \nRequirements\nSKILLSET/COMPENTENCIES REQUIREMENTS\nStrong understanding of the following but not limited to:\nInternational shipping regulations \nImport/export compliance \nHTS classification requirements \nCustoms documentation \nASN processes and EDI transactions \nLTL and parcel freight rating structures \nProficiency in ERP systems such as SAP. \nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills. \nExcellent negotiation and vendor management capabilities. \nAdvanced Microsoft Excel and reporting skills. \nStrong organizational and communication skills. \nApply AI/automation tools to transportation operations, including areas such as carrier management, freight optimization, and cost analysis\nEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE\n7-10 years of experience in Logistics and/or Supply Chain management;
