(ii) refrain from conduct and statements that detract from the biblical standards taught and supported by Young Life, and (iii) abide by all policies and practices of Young Life including, without limitation, those related to religious belief or ministry activities.\nCapernaum Coordinator\nSummary:Essential Duties:\nSpiritual Development - “Following Jesus” includes prayer and spiritual disciplines, fellowship, growth and health and church relationships.\nDevelop a yearly personal growth plan that fosters a vibrant spiritual life including time for solitude, retreat, reflection, prayer and a sincere commitment to understanding God’s Word.\nSeek and maintain relationships and disciplines, in the context of active participation in a church community.\nActively participate in the spiritual life of the Young Life community.\nWith the Area Director lead teams and individuals in spiritual development.\nEnsure that all Young Life ministry under your leadership is designed and carried out with a dependence on prayer that takes place out of the overflow of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.\nLeadership Development - “Equipping leaders, committee and staff” includes key volunteer care, recruiting, team building and training, supervision and vision casting.\nPartner with local area director and committee to cast vision for reaching “every kid” within the defined area. \nDevelop subcommittee to represent the specific needs of teens with disabilities and their families and to raise the funding needed for this arm of the ministry in this area.\nDevelop consistent gatherings with subcommittee and Capernaum leaders to build unity and provide vision and direction.\nCreate a spiritual leadership plan for Capernaum volunteer leaders and subcommittee members.\nRecruit and train new leaders to build leadership teams that reflect the community.\nTrain leaders and drivers in the physical care of kids with disabilities.\nProvide quality summer staff, work crew and adult guests for summer camps. \nModel excellence in contact work, club, Campaigners and camping to other leaders.\nTrain leaders, team leaders and committee how to work effectively in teams and develop a yearly ministry strategy with the local Area Director.\nResource Development - “Fueling the ministry” includes events, major donor care, public relations (branding) and TDS team.\nProvide leadership to the subcommittee in finding partners to support the Capernaum area vision and budget.\nDevelop alongside the Area Director a fundraising strategy for Capernaum and ensure excellence in communication to donors.\nBuild the Young Life brand via public relations as an excellent tool for working with youth in the area.\nWork alongside the Area Director to conduct quality events which reflect Young Life’s capacity to impact kids and warrant the investment of a participant’s personal and corporate resources.\nEffectively communicate the needs and successes of the local Capernaum ministry to the area committee as directed by the Area Director.\nDirect Ministry - “Proclaiming and modeling” includes contact work, club, Campaigners and camp.\nActively engage in all three levels of contact work.\nLead or co-lead a model Young Life club; lead or co-lead an effective Campaigner ministry with excellence.\nDevelop and implement ongoing plans to maximize Gospel proclamation through camping opportunities.\nServe on a summer assignment at a Young Life property, other Young Life camp or in another position each summer as requested.\nIn order to gain access to kids with disabilities, develop relationships with school administration, parents and school aides.\nMinistry Support - “Taking care of business” includes accounting, administration, communication (internal), data management and strategic plan.\nAdhere to all Young Life policies and procedures and maintain professionalism concerning office hours, dress, conduct and time management.\nMaintain accurate information on kids, leaders and donors for area records.\nProvide clear, prompt, appropriate and professional communication to everyone involved in ministry. \nPerform other duties as assigned and congruent with gifts, experience and area needs.\nAccept both short and long-term assignments of projects.\nTraining:\nMeet weekly with supervisor.\nParticipation in additional training or experiences if deemed necessary (e.g., more urban exposure; Taking Donors Seriously (TDS) training).\nAttend regional training as directed by the regional director.\nParticipate in programs designed for personal spiritual maturity or personal enrichment.\nPursue seminars designed to enhance professional skills.\nEvery local Capernaum coordinator will receive the same missionwide training as equivalent traditional staff.\nEducation:\nCollege degree preferred.\nQualifications:\nA vital, growing relationship with Jesus Christ.\nDesire and proven ability to work with a team.\nStrong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to multi-task, adapt and be flexible.\nMust have completed Core Training -Phase One. \nProven leadership skills.\nProven relational skills with both kids with disabilities and adults.\nA call to reach kids with the Gospel.\nDemonstrated verbal and written communication skills.\nAbility to maintain confidentiality.\nWorking Conditions:\nWill include the extremes of a camp assignment, e.g., heat/cold, dirt, long hours and the physical demands of hiking, horseback riding, boating, etc. Staff person must be able to handle these conditions.\nJob Specific Working Conditions:\nIn the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is outlined below.
