You are responsible for driving the technical vision, governance, and continuous improvement of integration technologies, ensuring they meet current and future business needs.\nYou work across a diverse ecosystem of integration platforms, including message brokers, event streaming, API management, and managed file transfer solutions (e.g., MQ, Kafka, Axway, AMQP Broker, API Platform).\nReporting to the Team lead of Integration Services\nWhat is your role at SNCB?\nAs a Technical Architect you will take on the following key responsibilities:\nArchitecture & Strategy\nDefine and maintain the target architecture for Integration Services.\n\nDesign and evolve integration building blocks to support business projects.\n\nMaintain and update technology roadmaps for both existing and emerging integration solutions.\n\nEnsure alignment with enterprise architecture standards and long-term IT strategy.\n\nTechnology Evolution & Innovation\nResearch, evaluate, and recommend new integration technologies and patterns.\n\nSupport the evolution of existing platforms (e.g., performance, scalability, security improvements).\n\nDrive adoption of modern integration paradigms such as event-driven architecture and API-first design.\n\nGovernance & Processes\nContribute to and improve internal processes and standards within Integration Services.\n\nDelivery Support\nSupport project teams in selecting and implementing appropriate integration solutions.\n\nCollaborate with development, operations, and security teams to ensure robust solutions.\n\nContinuous Improvement\nIdentify opportunities to optimize integration services and reduce complexity.\n\nEnhance reusability and standardization of integration components.\n\nMonitor industry trends and incorporate relevant innovations.\n\nRequirements\nWhy is this job a good fit for you?\nTechnical Expertise\nAt least 5 years of relevant experience as Technical Architect\n\nStrong experience with integration technologies such as:\nMessaging systems (e.g., MQ, AMQP)\n\nEvent streaming platforms (e.g., Kafka)\n\nAPI management platforms (e.g., Axway Amplify)\n\nManaged file transfer tools (e.g., Sterling)\n\nSolid understanding of:\nIntegration patterns (request/reply, pub/sub, event-driven)\n\nMicroservices and distributed systems\n\nSecurity protocols (OAuth, TLS, etc.)\n\nExperience with cloud and hybrid integration architectures is a plus\n\nExperience in Infrastructure as Code and Kubernetes is a plus\n\nArchitecture & Design\nProven experience in solution and/or enterprise architecture\n\nAbility to design scalable, resilient, and maintainable integration solutions\n\nFamiliarity with architecture frameworks and modeling techniques\n\nSoft Skills\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills\n\nAbility to influence and guide stakeholders across teams\n\nExcellent communication and documentation skills\n\nProactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement\n\nGood knowledge of English and Dutch or French (preferably with at least a passive knowledge of the second language)\n\nEveryone is unique.
