They are not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, and skills required.\nRESPONSIBILITIES:\nOrganizes and implements age-appropriate learning activities/ experiences with individual children and small and large groups within the approved curriculum.\nObserves and assesses utilizing Teaching Strategies GOLD and ASQ-3/ASQ-SE.\nConducts Parent/Teacher conferences 2 times per year.\nSupervises children's activities to ensure safety, and promote socialization and enjoyment of children attending the facility.\nWorks cooperatively with the assistant site director to resolve any programmatic or family concerns including but not limited to communication, service delivery, quality, curriculum, personnel, and assessment. \nWorks cooperatively with the assistant site director, on assigned duties, such as preparing activity materials, room cleanliness, and using time effectively.\nParticipates in mealtime activities with the children to encourage good eating habits, good table manners, conversation, and clean-up.\nAccompanies and supervises children on field trips.\nAssists children in all daily activities including, but not limited to: toileting, personal hygiene, dressing, and eating.\nCommits to self-education on anti-bias education, racial justice, and gender equity issues.\nMonitors health status of children for illness or areas of concern and reports to parents and assistant director.\nCleans up after activities.\nProvides written and/or verbal communication to parents regarding the child's daily activities, progress, and behavior.\nObserves all Children’s Center and YWCA policies and procedures.\nParticipates in 2 hours of training weekly\nParticipates in 4 hours of admin and classroom prep weekly\nComplies with applicable local, state, and federal licensing requirements/certification and/or regulations.\nComplies with association policy regarding required reporting of child abuse.\nSafeguards confidential information gained as a result of the position.\nWorks cooperatively with program participants, YWCA staff, and volunteers.\nPerforms other duties as assigned.\nWORKING CONDITIONS AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:\nYWCA assigned building\nOccasional off-site locations; promotional events, networking events, community engagement events, etc.\nPotential outdoor events \nActions: Sitting, standing, kneeling, bending, some lifting\nFrequently required to remain stationary\nFrequently required to move\nFrequently required to utilize hand and finger dexterity\nOccasionally required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl\nContinually required to communicate and exchange accurate information\nOccasionally exposed to outside weather conditions \nWhile performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate-loud \nOccasionally work in high, precarious places\nOccasionally work around fumes, airborne particles, or toxic chemicals\nThe employee must frequently lift and /or move more than 25 pounds. \nThe employee must occasionally lift and /or move more than 50 pounds. \nSpecific vision abilities required by this job include: Close vision; Distance vision; Color vision; Peripheral vision; Ability to adjust focus\nSpecialized equipment, machines, or vehicles used: computer, tablet, vehicle use, \nFrequent travel to and from offsite locations and events \nFrequent exposure to bloodborne pathogens, airborne pathogens, or infectious materials\nTRAINING REQUIREMENTS:\nOrientation to YWCA Personnel Policies, Mission, Purpose, and One Imperative.\nRacial Justice Training\nOrientation to Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault, Confidentiality, Mandatory Reporting.\nAll required state of Michigan Child Care Licensing training requirements\nMinimum 24 hours of ongoing professional development per year\nOther appropriate training and in-service will occur during employment.\nThe above is intended to describe the general content of and requirements for the performance of this job.
