They have a passion for product and a keen understanding of the customer, leveraging sales and inventory insights to help guide future product development and merchandising opportunities.\nThis person is naturally curious about the apparel industry and possesses strong product intuition. They understand how inventory decisions impact sales and profitability and are motivated by finding opportunities to improve performance across the business.\nMost importantly, they hold a high standard for quality in everything they do. They catch mistakes before they become problems, notice inconsistencies others overlook, and bring a level of operational rigor that strengthens the entire organization.\nPOSITION DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES\nDevelop and execute seasonal and annual buying strategies aligned with company objectives.\nPrepare and maintain ownership of inventory buys for multiple categories and divisions.\nAnalyze sales performance, inventory levels, market trends, and customer demand to make informed purchasing decisions.\nPrepare and distribute weekly, monthly, and seasonal business reports, including sales analysis, inventory reporting, KPI tracking, and hindsight reviews.\nConduct detailed hindsight analysis to evaluate product performance, identify trends, and improve future buying and assortment strategies.\nPartner closely with sales, merchandising, planning, operations, and leadership teams to provide data-driven insights on customer demand, product opportunities, category performance, and emerging trends and to ensure inventory is allocated effectively across channels.\nManage purchase orders, replenishment strategies, and inventory flow with a high degree of accuracy.\nMonitor open-to-buy budgets and ensure financial targets are achieved.\nIdentify opportunities to improve processes, reporting, forecasting, and operational efficiency.\nMaintain rigorous attention to detail across product data, reporting, pricing, purchase orders, buysheets, and communications.\nStay current on market trends, competitive activity, consumer preferences, and emerging opportunities within the apparel industry.\nAttend industry trade shows, vendor meetings, and market appointments as needed to identify trends, products, and partnership opportunities.\nPerforms other related duties as assigned by management.\nQUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE / SKILLS / COMPETENCIES\n4+ years of relevant apparel buying experience (wholesale brand experience preferred)\nPassion of apparel, product development, merchandising, and consumer trends.\nAdvanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, formulas, v-lookups, etc.\nExperience with Full Circle ERP preferred\nStrong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, and presentation skills\nUnderstanding of retail vocabulary and the application of retail math\nStrong, professional and effective verbal and written communication skills\nSelf-motivated with critical attention to detail and deadlines\nDemonstrate initiative, innovation, and follow through\nAbility to adapt well to change in direction and priority in a fast- paced and deadline-oriented environment\nWillingness to travel locally and domestically occasionally for tradeshows, shopping trips, or vendor appointments\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIORNMENT\nOccasionally to frequently required to sit, stand, walk,\nFrequently required to utilize hand and finger dexterity.\nOccasionally required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl.\nContinually required to talk or hear.\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate\nThe employee must occasionally lift and /or move more than 20 pounds\nSpecific vision abilities required by this job include: Close vision; Distance vision; Color vision; Peripheral vision; Depth perception and ability to adjust focus\nZ SUPPLY PERKS\nAt Z SUPPLY, departments work cross-functionally enabling everyone to further their knowledge and expertise in an inclusive, supportive environment that is committed to healthy work/life balance, peer mentorship, and community outreach.
