Over three decades, our core values have shaped a supportive and creative environment that emphasizes employee engagement, technical excellence, and strong customer relationships.\nTo learn more about who we are and what it’s like to work at GeoSpectrum, we invite you to watch our company video by visiting www.geospectrum.ca.\nResponsibilities\nSet up, maintain, and close project accounts in the accounting system, ensuring project structures, budgets, and reporting requirements are accurately reflected.\nMonitor project budgets, expenditures, commitments, encumbrances and change orders.\nPrepare, review, and analyze monthly project financial reports, including cost-to-date, forecast-to-complete, budget variance, profitability, and cash flow information.\nInvestigate project cost variances, billing discrepancies, and unbilled expenses; recommend corrective actions and document resolutions.\nPartner with project managers to develop budgets, forecasts, projections, and financial plans for active and upcoming projects.\nMaintain accurate project records, including contracts, change orders, approvals, billing documentation, compliance records, and audit support materials.\nSupport internal and external audits by preparing schedules, reconciliations, explanations, and required documentation.\nAssist in improving project accounting processes, internal controls, reporting templates, and financial management practices.\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.\nCPA designation (required or strongly preferred).\n7-10+ years of experience in accounting, finance, project accounting, construction accounting, or a related project-based financial environment.\nExperience in a mid-sized organization (approximately $100M-$500M revenue).\nStrong understanding of accounting principles, project cost tracking, reconciliations, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.\nExperience with accounting or enterprise resource planning systems; project accounting software experience is an asset.\nAdvanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.\nCore Competencies\nHigh attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.\nSound judgment, professionalism, confidentiality, and accountability.\nCollaborative approach with the ability to work effectively across finance, operations, and project teams.\nTransferable Skills\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and financial interpretation skills.\nAbility to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.\nClear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information to non-financial stakeholders.\nAbility to identify process gaps and recommend practical improvements.\nSecurity Requirements\nAll candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain Canadian Controlled Goods and Canadian Government Security clearances.\nTotal Rewards\nWe recognize that our people are our most valuable asset.
