This role is central to ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of embedded software through comprehensive automated testing strategies.\nThis is not your typical QA role - the ideal candidate will have a passion for software engineering, test automation, and continuous integration practices in embedded environments. You'll work at the intersection of software development and quality assurance, building robust test frameworks that enable rapid, secure delivery of mission-critical systems while maintaining the highest standards of operational excellence.\nRole Responsibilities:\nDesign, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks for embedded software systems\nImplement comprehensive test strategies including unit, integration, system, and regression testing\nDevelop and execute automated tests for real-time operating systems and embedded applications\nIntegrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing and delivery\nCreate and maintain test infrastructure using hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and software-in-the-loop (SIL) approaches\nCollaborate with firmware engineers to define testability requirements and improve code coverage\nDevelop automated performance and stress testing tools for embedded systems\nAnalyze test results, identify defects, and work with development teams to ensure timely resolution\nMaintain test documentation, metrics, and reporting dashboards for quality visibility\nSupport DevSecOps practices by integrating security testing into automated quality workflows\nRequired Qualifications:\nU.S. Citizenship \nActive secret security clearance and willingness to obtain top secret security clearance\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field\n3+ years of experience in embedded software testing or quality assurance\nStrong programming skills in C/C++ and Python for test automation\nExperience developing automated test frameworks and test harnesses for embedded systems\nKnowledge of software testing methodologies, including black-box, white-box, and gray-box testing\nFamiliarity with continuous integration tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar)\nExperience with version control systems (Git) and collaborative development workflows\nStrong analytical and debugging skills with attention to detail\nExcellent communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience with real-time operating systems (VxWorks, FreeRTOS, or similar)\nHands-on experience with hardware virtualization tools (QEMU, SIMICS)\nKnowledge of test automation frameworks such as Google Test, CppUTest, or Unity\nExperience with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and software-in-the-loop (SIL) testing\nFamiliarity with CMake and complex embedded build systems\nExperience with static and dynamic analysis tools (Coverity, SonarQube, Valgrind)\nBackground in missile defense, aerospace, or other defense systems\nKnowledge of DO-178C, ISO 26262, or other safety-critical software standards\nExperience with scripting languages (Bash,
