In this role, you will design, build, and maintain full stack features for a core banking platform product, working across front-end and back-end systems to ship reliable, scalable software. \nYou will collaborate closely with Product, QA, and cross-functional engineering teams to translate requirements into effective technical solutions, contribute to technical design discussions and code reviews, and help embed strong engineering standards across the team. Familiarity or interest in AI-assisted development is a plus, as the product is evolving toward AI-enabled, AIOS-powered workflows. \nWhat will you do?\nDesign, build, and maintain scalable, reliable full-stack features across a core Banking Platform product.\nTranslate requirements and designs into effective technical solutions, ensuring clean, maintainable, and well-tested code across front-end and back-end systems.\nCollaborate with Product, QA, Architecture, Engineering, Business Analysis, and Project Management teams to deliver high-quality features on time.\nContribute to technical design discussions, code reviews, and engineering standards, proactively addressing development challenges and delivery risks.\nApply and develop AI-assisted development practices, with an interest in building toward AIOS-enabled workflows.\nWhat do you need to succeed? \nMust have: \nBachelor's degree in computer science/engineering, Information Technology, or related field. \n5+ years of full stack development experience. \nStrong database and query building knowledge across multiple databases. \nExperience with enterprise software development in Java J2EE, Spring and Hibernate Frameworks, Web Services, MQ, REST-based APIs, docker, Kubernetes, postgres; Java is critical. \nFront-end development experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (i.e. React, Angular, or similar), HTML/CSS; React is critical. \nExperience with most of the following: \nJBuilder / Java / Servlets / EJB / GO / RUST \nHTML / DHTML / Java Script / XML / CSS/ React / Typescript \nJ2EE / WebLogic/ WebSphere/Spring/Hibernate/Struts/Report framework \nMS SQL, Oracle, DB 2, OOAD, UML, PostgreSQL, Cosmos \nKafka / event streaming \nKubernetes / Azure \nDomain knowledge of banking and financial institutions and/or large enterprise IT environment is preferred. \nDemonstrated interest or experience in AI-assisted development tools. \nNice to Have \nStrong, clear, and concise written and verbal communication skills. \nStrong interpersonal skills and can foster team collaboration. \nOut of the box thinking approach, with the ability to conceptualize and articulate new approaches and solutions. \nAbility to collaborate and communicate to achieve positive outcomes. \nDetail-oriented and strong ability to prioritize and meet deadlines. \nAptitude to solve problems. \nExperience with CI/CD tools, Eclipse, Maven, Sonar, JUnit. \nPro-active and has a strong desire to learn. \nAdditional Job Details \nExpected Salary Range: CAD $100K -130K; we hire into multiple career levels for this role based on a candidate's experience, skills and demonstrated capabilities. \nAt Zafin, we invest in our people.
