In this role, you will help ensure the quality, reliability, and readiness of Zafin’s banking product as it is developed, tested, and released to customers. \nYou will be responsible for planning and executing testing across customer implementation workstreams, validating business requirements, identifying defects, and supporting release readiness. This role requires strong functional testing skills, good backend and data validation experience, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced banking technology environment. Familiarity or hands-on experience with AI tools is a plus, as the product is evolving toward AI-enabled capabilities. \nWhat will you do?\nReview business requirements, functional specifications, and customer configuration details to define effective test scenarios and test cases. \nPerform functional, regression, integration, backend, API, and end-to-end testing for SaaS banking product implementations. \nValidate backend data processing, file-based workflows, system integrations, APIs, batch jobs, and customer-specific configurations. \nPrepare and manage test data required for test execution. \nExecute test cases, document results, capture test evidence, and clearly report testing progress. \nIdentify, document, track, and retest defects using tools such as Jira or similar platforms. \nWork with Product and Engineering stakeholders to clarify requirements, resolve defects, and support release readiness. \nSupport UAT and validation activities by providing test evidence, defect updates, and scenario clarification when required. \nDesign, develop, and maintain automated test suites that validate product functionality, reliability, and quality. \nEmbed automated testing throughout the software development lifecycle, integrating automated regression and validation tests into product CI/CD pipeline(s) providing continuous quality feedback. \nIdentify opportunities to improve test coverage, automation, test execution efficiency, and overall product quality. \nIdentify repeatable test scenarios that can be considered for automation. \nContribute to QA process improvement, test coverage enhancement, and overall product quality. \nTest coverage is clear, complete, and aligned to product requirements. \nTest automation frameworks reduce manual effort and speed up release cycles. \nDefects are well documented, properly tracked, and resolved early in the development cycle. \nTesting status, risks, and release readiness are communicated clearly. \nQA is seen as a trusted, embedded partner within the Banking Platform engineering team. \nWhat do you need to succeed? \nMust have: \nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience. \n3+ years of experience in software quality assurance; experience in banking, fintech, financial services, or enterprise SaaS environments preferred. \nFamiliarity or hands-on experience with AI tools or AI-assisted testing, with interest in building toward AI-enabled QA workflows. \nStrong understanding of the Software Testing Life Cycle, defect lifecycle, test planning, test case design, and regression testing. \nHands-on experience with functional testing, backend testing, integration testing, and end-to-end testing. \nGood SQL skills for data validation, backend verification, and issue investigation. \nExperience testing APIs using tools such as Postman. \nExperience working with Jira, Confluence, test management tools, or similar platforms. \nAbility to understand business requirements and convert them into clear, effective test scenarios. \nStrong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills. \nAbility to work independently, manage priorities, and support multiple concurrent initiatives. \nNice to Have \nExperience testing banking platforms, financial products, pricing, billing, deposits, lending, payments, or transaction workflows. \nHands-on experience with automation testing tools such as Selenium, Cypress, TestNG, Cucumber, Rest Assured, or similar frameworks. \nExperience with performance testing tools such as JMeter. \nUnderstanding of Kafka, ETL, batch processing, data pipelines, or message-based integrations. \nBasic knowledge of cloud platforms, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, Git, or DevOps practices.\nAdditional Job Details \nExpected Salary Range: CAD $85K -100K; we hire into multiple career levels for this role based on a candidate's experience, skills and demonstrated capabilities. \nAt Zafin, we invest in our people.
