We’re one of the fastest-growing companies in the industry, scaling to meet demand from the world’s most advanced, security-obsessed organizations.\nWe’re serious about our mission- so expect work that matters, teammates who challenge and inspire you, and plenty of fun along the way!\nWhat you’ll do\nBuild and lead Zafran’s AI dedicated team from the ground up.\n\nDefine, implement and maintain the company-wide AI platform, infrastructure, and developer tools.\n\nEnable R&D teams to build, test, deploy, and monitor AI-powered capabilities independently.\n\nLead the design and delivery of shared AI experiences and services across the company.\n\nEstablish standards for quality, reliability, security, observability, and cost management.\n\nPartner with Product, Engineering, DevOps, Security Research, and other teams to identify high-impact opportunities and turn them into scalable solutions.\n\nStay hands-on with architecture, implementation, production issues, and technical decisions.\n\nMentor engineers and raise the engineering bar for AI development across R&D.\n\nWhat you bring\n4+ years of experience as a Team Lead or Engineering Manager of an AI, infrastructure, or backend team.\n\n4+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, with strong system design skills.\n\nProduction experience building AI-powered applications or infrastructure around LLMs.\n\nExperience with model APIs, retrieval, evaluation, prompt and context management, tool use, and agentic workflows.\n\nProven ability to design systems that are reliable, scalable, secure, observable, and cost-efficient.\n\nStrong product thinking: you turn broad AI opportunities into practical capabilities.\n\nExcellent communication and cross-team collaboration.\n\nComfort in a fast-moving startup where the team and the foundations are still being shaped.\n\nNice to Have\nBuilt internal developer infrastructure used by multiple engineering teams.\n\nExperience with model evaluation, safety controls, governance, or production monitoring.\n\nExperience operating multi-tenant SaaS systems.\n\nBackground in cybersecurity or security-data products.\n\nBuilt a new team or introduced AI practices across an engineering organization.\n\nWhy this role matters\nAI will be a shared capability across everything we build.
