Its main activities are the growing of sugar cane, the production and marketing of sugar and other sugar downstream products.\n\nThe company invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals to fill the following position in the Business Improvement Department, based at Nakambala.\n\nPOSITION: PROJECT MANAGER X 1 – PERMANENT\nReporting to the Capital Programme Manager, the Projects Manager is responsible for managing assigned capital projects from requirements definition to commissioning and handover to the customer. The role ensures projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required specifications, while maintaining compliance with corporate governance standards, engineering requirements, and approved business objectives.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n1. Planning, Execution & Control\n\nManage assigned projects from initiation through to successful commissioning and handover.\n\nDeliver projects within approved schedules, budgets, and agreed project objectives.\n\nDefine project scope, requirements, deliverables, timelines, and resource requirements.\n\nDevelop and maintain project plans, monitor progress, and implement corrective actions where required.\n\nComplete monthly project reporting, including financial performance, risks, progress against plan, forecast cash flows, and revised completion dates.\n\nManage projects in accordance with PMBOK principles and recognised project management methodologies.\n\n2. Commercial, Contract & Stakeholder Management\n\nDevelop project scopes and technical requirements to support contractor procurement processes.\n\nSupport line functions in developing project budgets and cashflow forecasts.\n\nSubmit capital approval applications and supporting documentation in line with the annual capital cycle.\n\nManage contractor performance against agreed service level agreements (SLAs), project specifications, and Zambia Sugar standards.\n\nMonitor and verify the implementation of Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and contractual work standards.\n\nMaintain effective communication with key stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.\n\n3. Risk, Quality, Safety & Compliance\n\nEnsure full compliance with SHERQ requirements and Zambia Sugar safety standards.\n\nMaintain project safety files and ensure all legal and corporate safety requirements are met.\n\nProvide visible health and safety leadership and accountability on assigned projects.\n\nIdentify, assess, and manage project risks to minimise impacts on safety, quality, cost, and schedule.\n\nImplement appropriate quality management processes to ensure project outputs meet stakeholder requirements.\n\nEnsure compliance with corporate project governance processes, engineering standards, and regulatory requirements.\n\nPromote and adhere to Illovo procedures, policies, and guidelines, including SHERQ, Competition Law, and Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC) Electrical, Instrumentation & Control Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.\n\nRelevant professional registration.\n\nPreferably 5 years’ experience in manufacturing or industrial project management.\n\nProven experience managing medium-to-large capital projects in an industrial environment.\n\nStrong knowledge of project management principles, engineering practices, and contractor management.\n\nPMP certification or equivalent project management qualification will be an added advantage.\n\nSuitably qualified applicants must provide certificates verified by the Zambia
