Rowe Price and Canada Pension Plan Investments; technology venture capitalists Andreessen Horowitz, Breakthrough Energy Ventures, BOND Capital, Durable Capital, StepStone, and Standard Investments; and strategic natural resources companies BHP and Mitsubishi.\nAbout The Role:\nThe Civil Project Engineer will be responsible for the management of design, including preparation of drawings and specifications and construction of civil engineering works, structures, and infrastructure (including buildings) for the Mingomba Mine Project. You will be responsible for input into the prefeasibility and feasibility stages of the project where input from the civil discipline is required. You will also be responsible for monitoring the performance of civil construction contracts and reviewing variations where applicable. You will be responsible for building and fostering a collaborative relationship with all stakeholders including consultants, peer reviewers and suppliers. \nYou will join an outstanding team of geoscientists, data scientists, and software engineers. You will be a core part of the project teams, advancing the science and practice of exploration. You will help develop novel data collection and monitoring programs. \nReporting to the Project Controls Manager, responsibilities of this position include:\nEnsures that innovative civil/structural detailed designs are completed following good engineering practices and in accordance with the required standards and specifications, industry standards, and the relevant legislation (quality of design).\nProvides design interface between disciplines.\nEnsures (certified) design information received from vendors, contractors and consultants is accurate and interfaces with other designs.\nEnsures effective (peer) review and approval of discipline design are completed.\nEnsure continuous improvement, lessons learned, value engineering, fit for purpose, and the latest technologies are implemented.\nCarries the responsibility for the engineering discipline sign-off.\nInterfaces with internal and external design and drafting disciplines.\nProvides discipline inputs for studies and proposals.\nProvides engineering support to the site team.\nManages the mark-up and back draughting of redline drawings.\nManages and mentors subordinators if applicable.\nQualifications\nOur ideal candidate will have\nA degree in Civil Engineering is essential\n10 years minimum experience in the design, construction projects\nProven track record of bringing projects in on time, within budget and client approval.\nStrong understanding of technical issues in relation to civil engineering in a mine environment\nStrong report and proposal writing skills.\nAbility to review reports, carry out audits, manage people, technical teams and providing mentoring and training.\nIn addition to the above, you will have:\nRegistered with the Engineering Institute of Zambia (EIZ)\nAbility to work in a multi-cultural environment\nPossess ability to analyze and understand complex technical information\nGood leadership and motivational skills, with ability to get work done through others\nWe are committed to equal employment opportunities for all people.\nThis position is a full-time contract role.\nCurrently, we are only accepting applications from Zambian nationals.\nLocation: Zambia.\nWhat to Expect\nJoining KoBold means getting the opportunity for hands-on exposure to our exploration projects around the world.
