Technology Division under the Technology Strategy & Service Management at Head Office – Support Functions:\n\nRole Description\n\nJob Purpose\n\nThe role of the Business analyst (BAs) will be to bridge the gap between Technology and the business units using various analysis techniques to help the business understand and frame their requirements clearly and thereafter support the translation of those refined requirements to the solution architect for designing of technical solutions.\n\nThe BA will work closely with the various divisions of the bank to translate business requirements into technical requirements.\n\nJob Responsibilities\n\nGeneral:\n\nBridge between different business and functional units of the bank to deliver business change and transformation.\n\nApply a structured project management environment to prepare and deliver the full range of business analysis documentation using structured methodologies and modelling techniques (this includes business requirements specifications, user guide updates, impact assessments and business models).\n\nClear understanding of business requirements and bank policies, processes and procedures.\n\nLead workshops to obtain or review key information for business analysis (includes reviewing, analyzing, evaluating business problems and opportunities for innovation).\n\nReviewing, analyzing, evaluating business problems and opportunities for innovation in new products, technologies and business models that would help the bank remain relevant and competitive in the prevailing environment.\n\nParticipate in the development of terms of reference documents and request for proposals.\n\nParticipate in the vendor proof of concept and help in the first bid or buy-in resolution.\n\nParticipate in the evaluation of tenders as and when called upon.\n\nDefend and influence changes by providing relevant information to help make appropriate decisions.\n\nAcquire and develop in-depth knowledge on the different functional and business units of the bank to which the business analysis has been assigned as well as the industry.\n\nCollaborate with the test unit to ensure the right product is delivered to expectation by stakeholders.\n\nMaintain and regularly review key bank policies, processes and procedures and provide recommendations on process efficiencies.\n\nElicit requirements using various techniques; interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, user cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis.\n\nAnalyze and document business requirements with internal and external stakeholders.\n\nRecommendation of the Solutions for identified needs and create requirements.\n\nDetermine and clarify business needs with internal and external stakeholders.\n\nAssess the impact of changes and facilitate the documentation of business cases.\n\nConduct analysis to determine best path for solving business problems/opportunities that may include process improvement, systems enhancement, user training, and/or software procurement.\n\nConduct change impact analysis to assess the potential implications of changes, documents and quote business rules, functions and requirements.\n\nParticipating in the planning and execution of projects that move ideas from ideation to incubation and prototyping.\n\n• Develop requirements specifications according to standard templates.\n\n• Communicate and interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.\n\nTeamwork\n\nDetermine new, creative ways to employ teams on projects and distribute responsibilities\n\nWork across practice to share lessons learned and best practices\n\nManage day-to-day client interaction and expectations for assigned projects\n\nAnticipate client’s needs and propose alternative business solutions\n\nContinually seek and capitalize upon opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships\n\n• Possesses a knowledge base of each client’s business, organization and objectives\n\n• Facilitate and participate in product risk analysis with the test unit to develop project risk-based test cases\n\nBusiness Process Management:\n\nEvaluate, design, monitor and give input on the management of business processes.\n\nWork collaboratively across all departments of the organization to help improve the management of business processes.\n\nIntroduce innovation into the process that can impact results, enhance profitability and facilitate the organization to meet its business objectives and goals.\n\nConstantly update central repository with documented processes, policies and procedures.\n\nContinuously update changes to business and operational way of working.\n\nStakeholder Engagement\n\nWork with various teams to transform requirements into deliverables.\n\nWork with stakeholders to identify required changes.\n\nEnsure effective change management for involved business units.\n\nEnsure issues are identified, tracked, reported on and resolved in a timely manner.\n\nCollaborate with test managers on associated testing efforts\n\nEnsure the test team makes the test discipline effective during the project lifecycle.\n\nRisk Management:\n\nEnsure that all risks applicable to your area are identified, assessed, reported and captured in the risk register.\n\nEnsure accurate and complete reporting of risk events within the stipulated timeline (i.e. 7 calendar days)\n\nEnsure all emerging risks are reported and mitigating factors put in place.\n\nIdentify, monitor and report Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) in your respective unit/department\n\nEnsure that you are operating within the given risk appetites and report any breaches promptly\n\nImplement and close all audit recommendations, identified control weaknesses from Risk RCSAs, Consultancy reports or Customer complaints and risk events\n\nParticipate in the annual review of procedure manuals when requested\n\nEnsure you familiarize yourself with and adhere to the Zanaco Enterprise risk management framework and participate in
