We’re committed to building an inclusive culture based on trust and innovation.\nYou will be part of a distributed team developing new technologies to solve real business problems. Our client runs online marketplaces, and its Canadian engineering team is running a time-boxed experiment to learn what works in AI-driven product development. A small team works agent-first with tools such as Claude Code and Codex, keeping delivery steady and improving DORA metrics with a fraction of the current team size.\nWe are looking for someone with good communication skills, ideally with experience making decisions, being proactive, used to building software from scratch, and with good attention to detail.\nWhat you will do:\nTake product ideas from concept to production, working hands-on with coding agents such as Claude Code and Codex.\n\nTurn business needs into clear requirements, then build and ship them yourself, keeping the path from idea to impact short.\n\nBuild and maintain backend services in Java (Spring, Dropwizard), mostly microservices, with a monolith still in place.\n\nRun services on GCP serverless (Cloud Run), using managed offerings such as Pub/Sub, Firestore and Cloud Armor.\n\nWork in an agent-first way, automating patches, upgrades and other routine work to reduce manual toil.\n\nKeep feature delivery steady and improve DORA metrics while working with a smaller team.\n\nContribute to the frontend (React, Next.js, Node.js, GraphQL, BFF pattern) and mobile (Flutter/Dart) when a feature needs it.\n\nWork in a small team on a time-boxed experiment, helping the client learn what works.\n\nWhat you will bring:\nExtensive experience in software development, with strong Java and experience building microservices and APIs.\n\nExperience with the Spring or Dropwizard frameworks.\n\nDaily, hands-on use of coding agents such as Claude Code or Codex, and the judgment to review and test their output.\n\nA product mindset: able to take a business need and deliver it without a long hand-off chain.\n\nExperience with cloud-native and serverless delivery on GCP (Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, Firestore), or equivalent AWS or Azure services.\n\nExperience with CI/CD and event-driven design.\n\nExperience with MySQL, MongoDB or similar databases.\n\nFluent written and spoken English.\n\nNice to have:\nFront-end experience with React, Next.js, Node.js and GraphQL, including the BFF pattern.\n\nMobile experience with Flutter and Dart.\n\nExperience with Cloud Armor or other GCP security tooling.\n\nExperience shipping LLM-powered features.\n\nExperience with marketplace or high-traffic consumer products.\n\nWhat we offer:\n\n100% Remote Work\n\nWFH allowance: Monthly payment as financial support for remote working.\n\nCareer Growth: We have established a career development program accessible for all employees with 360º feedback that will help us to guide you in your career progression.\n\nTraining: For Tech training at Zartis, you have time allocated during the week at your disposal.
