The organisation is actively accelerating its digital capabilities to enhance customer experience and retail operations at scale, making technology a core driver of business growth\nWe are looking for someone with good communication skills, ideally with experience making decisions, being proactive, used to building software from scratch, and with good attention to detail.\nWhat you will do:\nTake ownership of data-driven backend features that power personalised navigation, product discovery, and user experiences.\n\nDevelop features such as chatbots, personalised search filters, and other data-driven capabilities, depending on project priorities.\n\nDesign, implement, and continuously improve APIs and backend services.\n\nContribute to backend architecture and technical decision-making, collaborating with the team to propose, evaluate, and implement solutions.\n\nSupport full-stack development when needed, including smaller frontend and infrastructure tasks.\n\nWrite clean, maintainable, and well-tested code, and actively participate in code reviews.\n\nCollaborate closely with the wider team in an Agile/Scrum environment, using tools such as Jira.\n\nWhat you will bring:\n7+ years of professional software development experience, with a strong focus on backend development.\n\nA proactive, ownership-driven mindset, with the ability to take initiative, drive conversations forward, take responsibility for topics, and bring new ideas or improvements without needing to be prompted.\n\nExcellent English communication skills (CEFR C1 or above), with the ability to communicate clearly in both technical and interpersonal contexts.\n\nStrong backend development experience with Java and Spring Boot, including working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and NoSQL databases such as MongoDB.\n\nGood understanding of Domain-Driven Design (DDD) principles and their application in backend software development.\n\nNice to have:\nExperience with data processing using Python, and knowledge of data pipeline orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow); familiarity with cloud data platforms (e.g., Google BigQuery)\n\nExperience with CI/CD, AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform\n\nExperience in the e-commerce sector\n\nWhat we offer:\n100% Remote Work\n\nWFH allowance: Monthly payment as financial support for remote working.\n\nCareer Growth: We have established a career development program accessible for all employees with a 360º feedback that will help us to guide you in your career progression.\n\nTraining: For Tech training at Zartis, you have time allocated during the week at your disposal.
