The team develops test strategies, automation, and AI-assisted engineering tools that improve test coverage, traceability, execution accuracy, and release-risk visibility while building future skills in AI-enabled software quality and test automation.\nUS Summer Internship Benefits:\nSummer Fridays, As Applicable With Your Team\n30+ Social and Professional Events in 12 Weeks\nGlobal Immersion With Your Teams and Interns\nIntern Allowance (when applicable)\n(for all US internships)\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities:\nWith guidance from System Test engineers, design and build a prototype AI Test Case-to-Automation Validation Assistant\nUse a provided set of Polarion test cases and corresponding automation scripts to define the comparison approach\nExtract the test purpose, preconditions, key steps, and expected results from each test case\nCompare those items with the automation script and flag potential missing, incorrect, or extra logic for engineer review\nCreate a simple report that links each test case to its script and summarizes matched items and potential gaps\nTest and refine the prototype using engineer feedback, documenting assumptions, limitations, and setup instructions\nDemonstrate the prototype on 10-15 representative test case and script pairs, target at least 80% agreement with engineer-reviewed findings, and measure the change in manual review time against a small baseline sample\nDevelop planning, organizational and leadership skills\nIncrease technology knowledge and skills, especially as it relates to Zebra's product portfolio\nManage team-based work assignments\nPractice interpersonal skills to connect with day-to-day business contacts through follow-up activities\nThis position requires hybrid work (3 days/week in office) in the Holtsville, NY office.\nRequired Qualifications:\nCurrent enrollment in an undergraduate degree program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Data Science, or Information Systems\nMust have an anticipated graduation date in May 2027\nMust be authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future\nPreferred Qualifications:\nCoursework or project experience using a programming language such as Python, Java, or JavaScript\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with an interest in software testing, automation, and AI-enabled validation\nClear written and verbal communication and the ability to collaborate, ask questions, and document findings\nFamiliarity with software testing, test automation, debugging, or log analysis through coursework, personal projects, or internships\nExposure to AI/ML concepts, large language models, prompt engineering, or API usage\nBasic understanding of requirements, test cases, expected results, and traceability\nFamiliarity with Git, source control, or reviewing code\nExperience working with structured data, reports, or application lifecycle management tools; Polarion experience is helpful but not required\nAdaptability and Learning Agility - Willingness to learn quickly, embrace new tools or methods, and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment\nTechnical Skills - Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and basic familiarity with technology solutions\nIntegrity - Commitment to ethical behavior and confidentiality\nSalary: USD $29.00-$33.00/hourly\nEqual Opportunity Employer:\nZebra is an equal opportunity employer.
