The algorithm researcher will develop perception & learning systems using 2D and 3D visioning systems that are Enterprise-grade and ready for real world deployment. Work is evaluated upon completion to ensure objectives have been met.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:\nDevelopment of computer vision and machine learning algorithms and applications\nDevelop proof-of-concept implementations, prototypes and demos to fine-tune technologies to practical, state-of-the-art systems\nParticipate and provide input in project code reviews\nPerform experiments and evaluations to quantify and validate improvements made to existing systems\nReceive general instructions to routine work, new projects or assignments\nTake responsibility for communicating with different engineers (embedded systems, backend server, computer vision) to continuously improve and optimize implemented algorithms\nCreate automated software tests and provide support to trouble shoot software issues when needed\nDocumentation of algorithms\nThis position requires hybrid work (3 days/week in office) in the Holtsville, NY location.\nThis position is expected to start in Summer 2027.\nRequired Qualifications:\nBachelor or Masters in computer vision or machine learning;\n2+ years of relevant work experience\nPreferred Qualifications:\nBasic foundation in computer vision; key areas of interest include at least 2 of the following:\nobject detection, tracking and recognition; multiple view geometry, 3D computer vision and SfM/SLAM; activity recognition\n\nScripting and prototyping languages: Python, Matlab, C/C++\nGeneric packages: OpenCV, Point Cloud Library\nExperience with Linux, Windows and ROS platforms\nAbility to grasp new concepts quickly\nAbility to adapt and use these patterns in innovative ways to develop custom solutions\nAbility to take initiative on issues and report results instead of waiting for task lists\nGood presentation skills, both prepared and “on demand” talks\nEqual Opportunity Employer:\nZebra is an equal opportunity employer.
