The developer will\narchitect, design and implement strategies for optimizing computer vision algorithms for different\nhardware architectures (e.g. x86, GPU, multi-core ARM CPU, DSP) based on performance, power and\nsize constraints.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities:\n Lead development of turning prototyped computer vision algorithms into high quality product\nready code\n Design and provide strategies for optimizing computer vision algorithms for different embedded\nsystem and mobile devices\n Serve in a leadership capacity for carrying out software development in C, C++ or other selected\nlanguages.\n Use status as a knowledge leader in software design and functional knowledge to provide\ntechnical leadership to a given program\n Define requirements for and may design complex new tools to aid in the analysis and solving of\ncomplex problems.\n Estimate scope, duration, effort and risk on project proposals.\n Initiate cross-company collaboration and develop positive relationships with other engineering\ndisciplines\n Design and/or review architected modules and software systems supporting new technology or\nimproving capability/performance of existing functionality\n Take responsibility for communicating with different engineers (embedded systems, backend\nserver, computer vision) to continuously improve and optimize implemented algorithms\n Create automated software tests and provide support to trouble shoot software issues when\nneeded\n Network with key contacts outside own area of expertise. Interact with management and senior\ncustomer personnel on matters requiring coordination across organizational lines. Represent\nthe organization as the principal customer contact and often perform project leadership\n Documentation of software architecture\nJob Requirements\n Masters in Computer Engineering/Computer Science (preferably with specialization in computer\nvision and machine learning); alternatively a comparable industry career, with significant\nexperience in delivering products using state-of-the-art computer vision and/or machine\nlearning systems\n Preferred work experience (years): 8+\n Broad understanding of computer vision; key areas of interest include object detection, tracking\nand recognition, multiple view geometry, OCR detection, camera calibrations, 3D data\nprocessing, SfM/SLAM, activity recognition\n Significant latitude used in determining objectives of assignment.\n Optimization experience on embedded GPU and DSP platforms: Nvidia, ARM.\n Parallelized & vectorized computation.\n Solid GPU programming experience using CUDA or Open CL\n Excellent C, C++11 and above programming skills.\n Experience in signal processing algorithms and implementation.\nIncentive Compensation:\nIn addition to base pay, Zebra offers this role the opportunity to earn a performance-based annual cash incentive, at a target equal to 15% of base pay, in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.Job Posting Statement:\nTo protect candidates from falling victim to online fraudulent activity involving fake job postings and employment offers, please be aware our recruiters will always connect with you via @zebra.com email accounts.
