Follows established processes and directions.This is a hybrid position working on-site at our corporate office located in Lincolnshire, IL for a minimum of 3 days a week.\nResponsibilities:\nDesigns, develops, and tests on a variety of firmware assignments that constitute a portion of a larger project for the organization’s Thermal printer products and solutions.\nDevelops and tests documentation which describes the specific firmware functionality.\nParticipates and provides some input in project code reviews.\nRuns software tests designed by more experienced engineers.\nReviews test results and perform root cause analyses to identify problems.\nProvides recommendations and implements solutions to complex issues. Ensures compliance with quality processes and standards.\nMakes changes to or upgrades existing firmware. Enhance and improve existing technologies to apply to new solutions.\nMakes and implements recommendations to immediate team to enhance performance and improve productivity.\nSeeks out new tools to analyze and solve problems.\nExercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.\nReceives general instructions on routine work, new projects or assignments.\nMay provide guidance to non-exempt personnel.\nPrimary intra-organizational with occasional inter-organizational and external customer contacts on routine matters\nGrow competency on wide range of Product framework, HALs, Linux Kernel drivers from Peripheral and Network communication, and real time controls.\nDevelops positive relationships with other company functions involved in the design, test, and implementation processes.\nundefined \nMinimum Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in engineering (Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering or related fields) with 2+ years of relevant experience or Masters degree in engineering (Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering or related fields) with no experience.\nSignificant experience delivering platform product embedded firmware development. \nProven experienced in programming languages C/C++ \nPreferred Qualifications:\nDevelopment experience in I2C, SPI, UART, USB, CAN, Modbus, WLAN, PWM, ADC, Bluetooth, Ethernet, others Microcontroller peripheral. \nGood knowledge in the use of Oscilloscope, Bus analyzer, emulator and other firmware debugging tools. \nFamiliar with electrical interface, schematic diagram, electronic component specification and datasheet. \nGood understanding in embedded RTOS and POSIX implementation including scheduling policy, synchronization methods, Interrupt Service Routine, external library integration, FileSystems, Memory allocation. \nPreferred experience with Stepper motor, network, MQTT, and security. \nParticipate in Agile (SCRUM/KanBan) development process \nExperience of prototype board bring up, bootloader development, ARMCC toolchain is a plus. \nEqual Opportunity Employer:\nZebra is an equal opportunity employer.
