Microscopy Customer Center Cambridge, the Applications Engineer will play a key role in supporting customers through Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), technical consultation, demonstrations and training activities.\nWorking closely with customers, sales teams, product management and internal stakeholders, the successful candidate will act as a technical expert for ZEISS Scanning Electron Microscopes (SEM), ensuring systems meet customer requirements prior to installation and supporting the delivery of exceptional customer experiences.\nThis role offers the opportunity to work with advanced microscopy technologies while collaborating with a highly experienced team of applications specialists.\nKey Responsibilities\nConduct Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) on ZEISS Scanning Electron Microscopes (SEM).\n\nEnsure systems meet quality standards and customer expectations prior to shipment.\n\nAct as a technical expert for customers, sales teams and product management.\n\nSupport customer demonstrations, sample validation activities and feasibility studies.\n\nDeliver customer training on microscopy systems where required.\n\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.\n\nSupport the continuous improvement of acceptance testing processes and work instructions.\n\nProvide technical guidance and applications expertise across a range of customer projects.\n\nSkills & Experience\nHands-on experience operating and troubleshooting Scanning Electron Microscopes (SEM).\n\nExperience working within an engineering, scientific or technical environment.\n\nKnowledge of analytical techniques such as Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS).\n\nStrong problem-solving and troubleshooting capability.\n\nExcellent communication and customer-facing skills.\n\nAbility to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing requirements.\n\nCollaborative approach with the ability to work effectively within a team environment.\n\nDesirable Experience\nFactory Acceptance Testing (FAT).\n\nCustomer demonstrations and technical training.\n\nMaterials science, semiconductor or life science applications.\n\nSample preparation techniques for electron microscopy.\n\nExperience with third-party analytical systems, including EDS platforms.\n\nQualifications\nDegree in Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Geology or a related scientific discipline preferred.\n\nMaster's degree desirable.\n\nBachelor's degree considered alongside relevant industry experience.\n\nPractical electron
