Make a difference, come join the team!\nWhat’s the role?\nThe Production Assembler is responsible for manufacturing, assembling, inspecting, testing, and packaging products in accordance with approved manufacturing procedures, work instructions, and ZEISS quality standards. This role ensures production goals are met while maintaining product quality, accurate documentation, and compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and applicable regulatory requirements. Responsibilities include staging materials, performing visual and dimensional inspections using microscopes and optical comparators, operating production equipment, recording work order information, and supporting product preparation for sterilization. The Production Assembler also maintains a clean and organized work environment, follows established safety and quality procedures, and collaborates with team members to achieve departmental goals for safety, quality, and productivity.\nSound Interesting?\nHere’s what you’ll do:\nProduction and Assembly\nManufacture and assemble products according to approved manufacturing procedures and work instructions.\nConsistently meet established production output, quality, and productivity goals.\nLearn and perform assigned product lines and manufacturing processes as directed by the manager or supervisor.\nReview work order Bills of Materials (BOMs) to gather, verify, and stage materials for assembly, inspection, and packaging.\nPerform basic manufacturing processes in designated areas, including tumbling, cleanroom operations, and packaging.\nPrepare products for sterilization in accordance with established procedures.\nOperate production equipment and perform routine maintenance within the scope of training and authorization.\nQuality, Inspection, and Testing\nEnsure finished products meet established specifications, quality standards, and ZEISS requirements.\nPerform in-process and final inspections in accordance with Quality Control Standard Operating Procedures (QCSOPs) and Quality Inspection Specifications (QIS).\nUse microscopes and appropriate magnification levels to perform detailed visual inspections of parts and assemblies.\nUse optical comparators and overlay models to perform dimensional inspections of single-piece and multi-piece components and assemblies.\nPerform in-process and final product testing, ensuring test equipment is properly set up and operated.\nExecute test procedures and accurately document all results.\nIdentify, segregate, and dispose of defective materials in accordance with established quality procedures.\nTroubleshoot and repair equipment assemblies down to the component level, within the scope of documented instructions, training, and authorization.\nPromptly report quality issues, nonconformances, and process deviations in accordance with established procedures.\nDocumentation, Compliance, and Systems\nReview, inspect, measure, and verify work orders in accordance with applicable procedures.\nMaintain accurate, complete, and legible documentation in accordance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP), including:Completing work orders correctly and completely.Recording accepted and rejected quantities accurately.Maintaining required production, inspection, and testing records.\nFollow applicable Manufacturing Standard Operating Procedures (MSOPs), Manufacturing Process Instructions (MPIs), Quality Control Standard Operating Procedures (QCSOPs), and Quality Inspection Specifications (QIS).\nComply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), line clearance requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.\nFollow First-In, First-Out (FIFO) procedures when staging, using, and returning materials.\nPerform required transactions in SAP or other enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, including operation confirmations, label printing, and other activities necessary to maintain production records and product traceability.\nWorkplace Organization, Safety, and Communication\nMaintain clean, organized work areas in accordance with 5S principles: Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain.\nComplete assigned cleaning and housekeeping activities as directed by production supervisors.\nFollow all applicable workplace safety requirements and maintain compliance with ZEISS quality standards, GMP, and relevant regulatory requirements.\nCommunicate effectively with technicians, team leads, assistant engineers, project managers, and supervisors regarding production, quality, equipment, and safety issues.\nPromptly escalate safety concerns, process deviations, and product nonconformances through established reporting procedures.\nContribute to corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives as requested.\nCollaborate with team members to achieve departmental safety, quality, and productivity objectives.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nDo You Qualify?\nHigh school diploma or GED.\n0-1 year of manufacturing experience.\nBasic computer skills, including navigating web browsers.\nPrevious experience in medical device manufacturing is strongly preferred.\nPhysical Demands\nThe physical demands listed below are representative of those required to perform the essential functions of this position.
