As a key member of the team, you will play a critical role in building and refining the platforms, tools, and services that power Zenni’s commercial operations, driving technical innovations and enabling the business to scale. You can communicate effectively with team leaders & directors. \nMost of all, you love solving hard technical, product, and business challenges to make a difference in the lives of other people.\nWhat you will be doing at Zenni\nBuild and evolve the platforms, internal tools, and services that support Zenni’s commercial operations, marketing, and promotional campaigns.\nTranslate commercial and operational requirements into technical initiatives, solutions, and launch plans across the full stack.\nReshape and automate business processes to improve efficiency, reliability, and time-to-market for commercial and promotional activities.\nDefine and track key engineering metrics to measure engineering success and drive continuous improvement.\nWork closely with the commercial, marketing, product, design, and QA teams to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality products.\nCollaborate with global team members on company wide technical initiatives.\nLeverage AI tools and techniques to accelerate development and unlock new capabilities for the commercial team.\nStay up-to-date with the latest web technologies, industry trends, and user behaviors to inform technical strategy and development.\nThe ideal candidate would possess\nEducation: Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field.\n Professional Experience:5+ years of overall work experience, including 2+ years dedicated to full-time full-stack web development.\nStrong TypeScript expertise, including experience with strict mode configurations.\nProficiency with Next.js and modern React patterns: Hooks, Context API, Custom Hooks architecture, SSR/SSG, and the App Router.\nSolid backend development experience with Node.js and/or Java, including designing and building RESTful or GraphQL APIs and microservices.\nFamiliarity with e-commerce domain models and technical architecture (catalog, cart, checkout, order, payment, promotion, and inventory) is essential.\nExperience with relational and/or NoSQL databases, caching, and message queues.\nFamiliarity with Tailwind CSS/TanStack Query and modern data-fetching patterns.\nEffective use and solid understanding of AI tools and LLMs, including AI-assisted development and integrating AI capabilities into business workflows.\nExperience building internal platforms, tools, or workflow automation is highly desirable.\nFamiliarity with cloud platforms and CI/CD pipelines is a plus.\nCompetency in writing unit tests and end-to-end (E2E) tests.\n\nCommunication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both English and Chinese, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences, including non-technical stakeholders.\nAt Zenni Optical, people remain the heart of our mission, even as we embrace technology that moves us forward.
