If you are looking to have a massive impact in a high-growth startup bridging the gap between traditional finance and digital assets, you will find this role uniquely challenging and rewarding.\nRole Objectives & Focus\nThis senior-level role focuses intensely on the backbone of our financial infrastructure:\nFiat Payments: Building and maintaining robust fiat rails such as ACH, RTP, FedNow, RFP in the US, and SEPA in Europe.\nBanking Infrastructure: Direct API integrations with top-tier banking partners.\nTreasury Management: Developing sophisticated software to autonomously manage and reconcile balances across banking networks.\n Operational Tooling: Creating internal tooling to streamline financial operations and scale our capacity to handle millions of transactions securely.\nResponsibilities\nLead the architectural design and hands-on development of our global fiat payment rails (ACH, RTP, FedNow, Request for Pay, and SEPA).\nArchitect, implement, and scale seamless API integrations into our banking partners' systems.\nDesign and build robust treasury management software for internal operations, allowing programmatic liquidity management and automated balance transfers between partner banks.\nDevelop robust internal operational tooling to support reconciliation, automated alerts, financial operations, and compliance reporting.\nSupport the company's vital business by contributing to the design and development of software in an event-driven microservices environment.\nDevelop microservices, primarily utilizing Golang.\nWork closely with platform engineers to set up new services and scale existing infrastructure.\nRespond to production issues and alerts, ensuring high availability of our payment gateways.\nWhen necessary, communicate directly with banking partners and client technical teams to resolve complex integration issues.\nRequirements\n7+ years of software engineering experience, specifically focused on Payments, FinTech, or Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) infrastructure.\nDeep proficiency with Golang in a production environment.\nExtensive understanding of traditional fiat networks and clearing systems (e.g., ACH, RTP, FedNow, SEPA, Swift).\nStrong expertise in SQL and complex database schema design for high-throughput, ACID-compliant financial ledgers.\nHands-on experience developing, integrating, and maintaining resilient connections with bank APIs and third-party payment processors.\nA humble and scrappy get-it-done mindset; you're resourceful and in your element going from 0 to 1.\nExcellent problem-solving skills; you can systematically troubleshoot complex distributed systems.\nComfort with ambiguity; the ability to independently lay out and test clear hypotheses, and solve architectural problems without well-defined direction.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills.\nPreferred Qualifications\nBachelors in Computer Science or equivalent experience.\nExperience at a banking-as-a-service, brokerage-as-a-service, or payment-as-a-service business.\nProven track record of building treasury management or automated ledgering systems from scratch.\nExperience with digital assets and crypto infrastructure.\nExperience with distributed systems design and messaging frameworks (e.g., Kafka, ZeroMQ, or NATS) for data distribution and persistence.\nBenefits\nHealthcare Insurance: zerohash covers roughly 100% of employee premiums as well as a portion of spouse/children (U.S. only)\nVision & Dental Insurance (U.S. only)\nChance to earn equity\nMaternity & Paternity leave (after 6 months)\nWeWork All Access Membership\nWFH Yearly Stipend\nL&D Yearly Stipend (after 6 months)\nAbout zerohash\nzerohash is the leading crypto and stablecoin infrastructure platform and the operating system for digital money, powering the next generation of financial services.
