You will own systems end-to-end, influence architecture, and help shape the technical direction of the company.\nYou will also mentor junior engineers and contribute to building a strong engineering culture.\nOur Tech Stack\nOur backend is built primarily in TypeScript running on Node.js, using a cloud-native, serverless architecture on Google Cloud Platform. We use services such as Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub, Firestore, and BigQuery to build scalable, event-driven distributed systems. Our platform integrates with a wide range of external APIs and IoT devices, including solar inverters, batteries, EVs, and heat pumps.\nA core part of our platform includes proprietary forecasting, optimization, and control algorithms developed in collaboration with research partners and universities.\nWe also use modern AI coding tools extensively, including Claude, Cursor, Conductor, and similar frontier tools. We expect engineers to actively leverage AI-assisted development to increase velocity and capability.\nWhat You’ll Do\nDesign and implement core backend systems using TypeScript and Node.js\n\nArchitect and build scalable, reliable cloud-native services\n\nOwn technical components end-to-end, from design to production\n\nBuild distributed, event-driven systems running on Google Cloud\n\nIntegrate external APIs from energy devices, EVs, and IoT systems\n\nWork closely with our AI and algorithm systems powering optimization and forecasting\n\nMake architectural decisions and improve system design, reliability, and performance\n\nMentor junior engineers and help raise the engineering bar of the team\n\nUse modern AI coding tools extensively to accelerate expertise in backend engineering using TypeScript and Node.js\n\nExperience building cloud-native distributed systems\n\nStrong engineering craftsmanship and attention to quality\n\nExperience owning complex systems or components end-to-end\n\nAbility to design systems and architecture, not just implement tasks\n\nExperience mentoring engineers and contributing to a strong engineering
