The Digital Content Specialist will serve as a key member of the communications team, responsible for supporting ZERO TO THREE's digital content across websites, social media and email. Reporting to the Editorial Manager, the successful candidate brings proven experience in website management, digital content production, and project coordination in a fast-paced communications environment. This role is the operational backbone of ZERO TO THREE’s digital presence: ensuring content is current, accurate, accessible, and optimized across every channel. You are detail-oriented and organized, motivated by keeping systems running smoothly, and ready to play a central role in delivering a consistent and engaging digital experience for ZTT's audiences.\nESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES\nServe as the primary owner of ZERO TO THREE websites, managing page builds, content updates, homepage features, and ongoing site maintenance in coordination with the Editorial Manager and program teams.\nApply SEO and Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) best practices to every web build and content update, optimizing pages, metadata, and content structure to drive search visibility, organic growth, and citation in AI-generated responses.\nOptimize website content and page layouts using UX and web accessibility best practices to create an intuitive and engaging website experiences.\nProduce and publish digital content across web, email, and social platforms to support organizational priorities and campaigns.\nAssist with social media asset creation, including graphics, carousels, and short-form content using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or in-platform editing tools.\nLead production of internal and external newsletters, including coordinating content, writing, and delivering on schedule for deployment.\nCoordinate with web development vendors to troubleshoot technical issues, prioritize enhancements, and ensure timely resolution of site maintenance needs.\nManage incoming digital content requests and maintain project status through Asana, ensuring work moves efficiently from intake through launch.\nStay current on digital trends, emerging platforms, and best practices in content marketing and audience engagement.\nPerform other duties as assigned to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the department.\nESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE\nMinimum 3-5 years of related experience in website management, digital content, or communications with a strong focus on web operations\nProven track record managing website builds and content updates; WordPress CMS proficiency required\nStrong writing skills across formats including web copy, social copy, short-form editorial, and newsletter content\nWorking knowledge of UX and SEO principles and experience applying best practices to web content\nAbility to produce basic on-brand graphics and digital assets using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools\nStrong project management skills with attention to detail, adherence to deadlines, and consistent follow-through\nProficiency with social media platforms and an interest in emerging digital communications trends\nComfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment where priorities shift\nComfortability learning new software and digital tools quickly\nTeam player with superb communication and interpersonal skills\nEDUCATION\nBachelor's degree (B.A.) in communications, journalism, digital media, English, advertising, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience in a digital content or web management role.\nCOMPENSATION & BENEFITS\nThis position's salary is estimated to be mid $50,000s to mid $70,000s depending on experience, geo-location, budget, and other comparable and similarly scoped internal positions.
