V.\nGeneral Description\nThe Product and Applications Engineer II will be responsible for executing and coordinating product design, development, validation, and engineering activities for automotive applications, ensuring compliance with customer-specific requirements, engineering specifications, and applicable industry standards.\nTasks\nProduct Design and Development\nIndependently develop, review, and improve automotive products and components to meet customer and engineering requirements.\nCreate, modify, and release 2D drawings and 3D CAD models using PTC Creo.\nPerform technical design evaluations, including dimensional analysis, GD&T, and design feasibility assessments.\nIdentify and implement product design improvements considering quality, manufacturability, performance, and cost.\nEvaluate technical requirements and develop engineering solutions for customer applications.\nCollaborate with global design teams on product development and technical issues.\nEngineering Change Management\nCoordinate and implement engineering changes, including change requests, drawing updates, BOM revisions, and deviations.\nManage engineering documentation and change workflows using Windchill.\nAssess the impact of engineering changes on product performance, manufacturing processes, validation, and program timing.\nEnsure proper documentation, traceability, and timely implementation of approved engineering changes.\nProduct Validation and Problem Solving\nCoordinate prototype development and product validation activities with testing laboratories and engineering teams.\nReview validation requirements, test plans, and technical test results.\nAnalyze product failures and recommend corrective design actions.\nLead technical investigations and support root cause analysis using structured problem-solving methodologies.\nSupport design verification activities to ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.\nEvaluate product performance and identify opportunities for design optimization.\nProgram and Customer Support\nPlan, coordinate, and conduct technical design reviews with cross-functional teams.\nServe as an engineering contact for assigned product applications and technical issues.\nSupport customer technical discussions and provide engineering recommendations.\nCoordinate engineering deliverables during product development, program launch, and serial production.\nCollaborate with manufacturing and quality teams to resolve design-related production concerns.\nWork with suppliers and internal engineering teams to evaluate technical feasibility and implement product improvements.\nTrack engineering activities, identify risks, escalate critical issues, and ensure timely closure of assigned deliverables.\nContinuous Improvement\nIdentify and implement opportunities to improve product designs, engineering processes, quality, and cost.\nShare technical knowledge and best practices across engineering teams.\nProvide technical guidance and support to less experienced engineers.\nContribute to continuous improvement and engineering standardization initiatives.\nPerform other engineering-related activities as assigned.\nProfile\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related engineering field.\nTypically 3-6 years of relevant engineering experience, preferably in automotive product design, development, or applications engineering.\nDemonstrated experience independently executing engineering projects or product development activities.\nProficiency in 3D CAD modeling and engineering drawings;
