We are seeking an experienced professional to support our workforce expansion in India.\nAbout the role\nThe Software Asset Management (SAM) Analyst plays a critical role in managing software assets from procurement through retirement. This person will own license compliance, software audits, vendor contract tracking, and SAM tooling-working cross-functionally to optimize software spend and build a mature SAM practice. The SAM Analyst will develop dashboards and reporting that support IT budgeting, compliance assurance, and executive visibility into software utilization across the enterprise.\nAs a Software Asset Management Analyst, you will:\nSoftware Asset Lifecycle Management\nTrack and manage software assets from procurement through retirement.\nMaintain an accurate inventory of software installations and entitlements using SAM tools and CMDB systems.\nSupport the onboarding and offboarding of software licenses.\nLicense Compliance and Optimization\nEnsure compliance with software license agreements, vendor contracts, and regulatory requirements.\nIdentify and mitigate license overuse, underutilization, and unauthorized installations.\nConduct regular audits and internal reviews of software deployments.\nVendor and Contract Management\nCollaborate with procurement to analyze software agreements and renewals.\nAssist in negotiating license terms with software vendors to ensure favorable terms and cost efficiency.\nMaintain records of contracts, license keys, entitlements, true-up dates, and usage metrics.\nReporting and Metrics\nDevelop and present dashboards, reports, and KPIs on license usage, compliance, and cost savings.\nSupport IT budgeting and forecasting related to software spend.\nTool and Process Management\nConfigure and maintain SAM tools (e.g., Flexera, ServiceNow License Manager, or similar platforms).\nRecommend and implement process improvements to enhance data accuracy and operational efficiency.\nParticipate in SAM governance and process development efforts.\nThis role has been categorized as an Office position. “Office” employees regularly work at the Zillow India office for approximately 80 to 100 percent of their time each month. Employees must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the office. Zillow has not defined a reasonable distance, and expects employees will use judgment in determining this for themselves and understand the implications re: time commitment and cost of daily commute.Who you are\nWho you are:\n2-4 years of experience in software asset management, IT asset management, or procurement.\nProficiency in SAM tools and technologies (Flexera, ServiceNow SAM, etc.).\nKnowledge of software licensing models (e.g., SaaS, subscription, perpetual, concurrent, user-based).\nFamiliarity with ITIL practices, especially Configuration and Asset Management.\nStrong Google Sheets and reporting skills; experience with Power BI or Databricks is a plus.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.\nExcellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.\nHigh attention to detail and strong organizational skills.\nAbility to work independently and manage multiple priorities.\nBachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.\nNice to have:\nExperience supporting software audits (e.g., Microsoft, Adobe, Oracle, etc.).\nBackground in cybersecurity or risk management as it relates to software usage.\nExperience in cloud licensing (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP, O365).\nSAM certification (e.g., CSAM, CHAMP) preferred.\nGet to know us\nAt Zillow, we’re reimagining how people move-through the real estate market and through their careers.
