We are seeking an experienced professional to support our workforce expansion in India.\nAbout the role\nAs a Software Development Engineer (P3) at Zillow, you are a key contributor to your team’s success. You independently deliver non-trivial features and improvements, design solutions to well-scoped problems, and help teammates succeed. In this role you will:\nWork on revenue-generating features that make a real impact on the business, while growing your technical expertise. \nCollaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and designers across teams to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions. \nBe trusted to take ownership of meaningful projects, contribute to system design discussions, and strengthen the reliability and performance of our advertising platforms.\nWork across the stack: React/TypeScript micro-frontends, GraphQL federation, and backend services, plus ad-tech integrations (Google Ad Manager/GPT, Prebid, viewability and identity vendors).\nShip experiments safely through A/B trial platforms with clear guardrail metrics, rollback paths, and data-informed decisions.\nUse AI coding assistants to amplify your expertise while exercising judgment on when to trust, revise, or set aside generated output.\nCollaborate cross-functionally with Product, Technical Program Managers, Ad Ops, and page-owner teams (Search, Home Detail Page, Rentals, iOS/Android) to adapt and extend solutions for advertising use cases.\nHelp refine team processes through agile ceremonies; support growth of the team through interviewing and onboarding.\nContinuously learn: seek feedback, and deepen your knowledge of ad technology, front-end performance, and distributed systems\nThis role has been categorized as an Office position. “Office” employees regularly work at the Zillow India office for approximately 80 to 100 percent of their time each month. Zillow has not defined a reasonable distance, and expects employees will use judgment in determining this for themselves and understand the implications re: time commitment and cost of daily commute.Who you are\n4+ years designing, coding, and debugging production web applications and backend services.\nStrong proficiency in modern front-end development with React and TypeScript; experience with micro-frontend architectures, server-side rendering, and web performance optimization.\nSolid backend experience in Node.js/TypeScript and/or Java (Spring Boot); comfortable designing and consuming GraphQL APIs (federated graphs a plus).\nExperience with AWS and container/Kubernetes-based platforms, CI/CD (GitLab or similar), and observability tooling such as Datadog.\nRigorous about quality: unit and integration testing (Jest, Playwright or equivalent), code review, monitoring.\nA track record of independently delivering well-scoped features with quality; communicates clearly with technical and non-technical partners, and seeks guidance when facing ambiguity.\nBS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.\nGet to know us\nAt Zillow, we’re reimagining how people move-through the real estate market and through their careers.
