The role acts as a key liaison between terminals, port service providers, vessel operators, network partners and internal stakeholders to maintain schedule reliability, operational performance and compliance with company standards.\nMain Job Responsibilities:\nVessel & Port Operations\nCoordinate vessel calls and related port activities in assigned locations.\nMonitor vessel schedules, turnaround times and operational performance.\nIdentify operational disruptions, delays and risks, ensuring timely escalation and resolution.\nSupport service recovery initiatives to minimize commercial and operational impact.\nTerminal & Service Provider Coordination\nLiaise with terminals, port authorities, agents and service providers to ensure smooth execution of port calls.\nMonitor loading and discharge operations, productivity levels and operational constraints.\nEnsure operational requirements are communicated effectively to all stakeholders.\nCost Control & Operational Efficiency\nReview and validate operational expenses, vendor invoices and port call costs.\nSupport budget control activities and identify opportunities for cost optimization.\nContribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at increasing efficiency and service quality.\nReporting & Performance Monitoring\nMaintain accurate operational data and records.\nPrepare and analyze operational KPIs and performance reports.\nProvide regular operational updates to local and regional management.\nStakeholder Management\nCollaborate closely with Customer Service, Trade, Logistics, Finance and regional Operations teams.\nMaintain effective relationships with terminals, service providers and external business partners.\nSupport cross-functional initiatives to improve operational performance and customer experience.\nCompliance, Safety & Quality\nEnsure compliance with company policies, industry regulations and local requirements.\nSupport safety, security and environmental standards related to vessel and port operations.\nPromote operational excellence and adherence to established procedures.\nRequirements\nBachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in Shipping, Logistics, Maritime Studies or related fields.\nMinimum 3-5 years of experience in container shipping, vessel operations, port operations or logistics.\nSound knowledge of liner shipping and container terminal operations.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving and coordination skills.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced international environment, together with the flexibility in working hours required by the management of vessel operations.\nFluent in Italian working knowledge of English, both written and spoken.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office applications and operational management systems.\nKey Competencies:\nOperational Excellence\nPlanning & Coordination\nProblem Solving\nCost Awareness\nStakeholder Management\nAccountability\nCommunication Skills\nTeamwork & Collaboration\nAdaptability\nResults Orientation\nJob Location: Genova, Italia\nContract Type: Full time, Permanent/Temporary based on candidate’s experience.\nSalary Range: 33.000 E - 40.000 E\nHybrid working arrangement up to 20% of the time\nHow do we hire?\nOur recruitment process focuses on finding the right match.\nZIM’s exceptional teams are crafted from individuals who not only possess the right skills but also share our passion and values.\nWe're committed to understanding your background, skills, and aspirations because we believe that's the foundation for fostering excellence.\nWhen you apply for a position at ZIM, we want to make sure it’s the most suitable fit - for both of us!\nWe believe in equal opportunities: At ZIM, we prioritize diversity of our qualified employees.
