The Hardware Engineer V will participate in the development of electrical architecture and design, integration and debugging of new electrical hardware and validation of the design in a structured engineering environment. The qualified individual will be responsible for documentation of the design changes, supporting the transition of new designs into manufacturing, as well as solving complex engineering problems associated with new product introduction. This role will work onsite at ZincFive headquarters in Tualatin, Oregon, and reports to the Technical Engineering Manager.\nHardware Engineer V Job Duties:\nManage the electrical requirements and specifications\nDocument the design architecture and formal design synthesis\nModel and simulate the performance of electrical circuits\nElectrical schematic capture and BOM maintenance\nComponent selection to meet requirements for uninterruptible power supply systems (UPS) for industrial applications\nWork with the mechanical engineering department to develop circuit designs to support required functionality and meet requirements for size, weight, and power\nPCB layout for EMI/EMC compliance and manufacturability. \nParticipate and lead design reviews\nParticipate in failure root cause analysis and implement corrective actions\nPerform hardware design verification and validation testing and resolve design flaws or performance issues\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams and provide technical expertise to ensure product performance and functionality meets requirements\nDevelop production validation and product acceptance test criteria to support transition into manufacturing\nScoping project effort and stay on schedule\nRisk assessment and mitigation\nMentor and provide guidance to junior engineers and technicians \nRequirements:\nA Bachelor of Science in Electronic Engineering\n10+ years of experience with power electronics, board-level circuit design and simulation, and analog and digital circuit design\nExperience working with voltages up to 600Vdc\nExperience designing and debugging systems with microcontrollers\nKnowledge of serial communications protocols and hardware interfaces, including I2C and CAN\nProven experience in analog circuit design, electronic noise reduction and filtering techniques\nProficient in using hardware debugging tools, test equipment, and oscilloscopes\nExperience designing for FCC and CE compliance\nExperience designing for UL compliance\nAbility to work under pressure and deliver on time in a fast-paced, dynamic environment\nAbility and willingness to travel domestically and internationally, as needed\nRequires proven experience with microcontrollers \nRequires developing designs using Altium Designer Suite\nRequires excellent written and verbal communication skills \nPreferred Experience/Skills:\nA Master of Science in Electronic Engineering\nKey Competencies:\nAttention to detail\nIntegrity\nAccurate data collection and analysis\nTroubleshooting and problem solving\nResults Orientation \nSound engineering/scientific judgment\nTeamwork and collaboration\nInitiative and drive\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills\nPhysical Requirements and working conditions:\nWork involves sitting, walking, and lifting up to 40 pounds\nDomestic and international travel by car, airplane, bus & train\nRequires close visual acuity, the ability to distinguish color, and the ability to hear \nAbility to wear Personal Protective Equipment when required\nManufacturing, warehouse, lab, and office environments \nSalary offers will depend on factors that include the location you work from, your level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. \nIn addition, the successful candidate for this position will become eligible for a comprehensive set of outstanding benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401k, paid sick time, paid time off for vacation, paid holidays, paid community service days, professional/personal learning program, and applicable state/federal paid family leave. \nZincFive is committed to employing a diverse workforce.
