This role manages general ledger accounting, month-end and quarter-end close activities, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and the analysis of complex accounting transactions, while ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and public company accounting standards. The Senior Accountant partners partner across teams to investigate variances, resolve accounting issues, support audits, improve processes and maintain the integrity of the company's financial statements. This role also contributes to SOX compliance initiatives, and activities that support IPO readiness and the continued development of a scalable, public-company accounting function.\nThis hybrid position will be based at ZincFive headquarters in Tualatin, Oregon, with 2-3 days per week in the office and the remaining time remote. This role reports to the VP & Global Corporate Controller.\nSenior Accountant Job Duties:\nManage month-end and quarter-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and review of general ledger transactions\nPrepare, review and maintain balance sheet reconciliations, investigate variances, and ensure accounts are complete and accurate\nAnalyze monthly balance sheet and income statement activity, identify unusual trends or fluctuations, and recommend corrective actions\nSupport the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and related management reporting\nPrepare and maintain accounting schedules and support documentation for financial reporting and compliance requirements\nAssist with annual audits and quarterly reviews by preparing audit schedules, providing supporting documentation, and responding to auditor requests\nMaintain and improve SOX-compliant internal controls; document accounting procedures and identify opportunities to strengthen control effectiveness\nLead process improvements and automation initiatives within the general ledger and close processes to improve efficiency and accuracy\nPartner with FP&A and cross-functional teams to research accounting matters, resolve issues, and provide financial analysis and reporting support\nPerform technical accounting research and assist with the implementation of new accounting standards and accounting treatment for complex transactions\nDevelop, document, and enforce accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and company standards\nSupport budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis activities as needed\nMentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff, as applicable\nPrepare ad hoc financial analysis and support special projects as needed\nFosters strong interdepartmental collaboration to enhance responsive customer service, timely issue resolution, streamline processes, and support shared business goals\nJob Requirements:\nBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field\n5+ years of progressive accounting experience \nStrong knowledge of U.S. GAAP\nExperience supporting SOX compliance, external audits, and public company or IPO readiness initiatives\nExperience developing, implementing, and improving internal controls and accounting processes within a manufacturing environment\nHigh attention to detail and strong analytical ability\nExcellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments \nAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment, particularly during month-end and quarter-end close cycles\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team\nContinuous improvement mindset with a focus on process optimization, automation, and operational efficiency\nStrong business partnership and cross-functional collaboration skills\nAdvanced proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) and Excel\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills\nPreferred Experience/Skills:\nCertified Public Accountant (CPA) certification preferred\nBig Four public accounting experience preferred \nKey Competencies:\nAnalytical and problem-solving skills\nStrong communication skills, both verbal and written\nAttention to detail and accuracy\nFinancial analysis and critical thinking\nPlanning, organization, and time management\nAdaptability in a fast-paced environment\nCollaboration and business partnership\nSound judgment and decision-making ability \nPhysical Requirements and Working Conditions:\nProlonged periods of sitting and working at a computer\nFrequent use of computers, keyboards, and other office equipment, including repetitive typing and data entry\nAbility to occasionally stand, walk, bend, and lift or move items up to 10 pounds\nHigh volume of phone calls for extended periods of time\nOn site and remote home office environment \nMust be able to maintain a level state of alertness while performing this job\nSalary offers will depend on factors that include the location you work from, your level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. \nIn addition, the successful candidate for this position will become eligible for a comprehensive set of outstanding benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401k, paid sick time, paid time off for vacation, paid holidays, paid community service days, professional/personal learning program, and applicable state/federal paid family leave. \nZincFive is committed to employing a diverse workforce.
