This position will assist with general ledger activities, journal entries, account reconciliations, month-end close, and financial reporting, while developing a strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and internal controls. The Staff Accountant will work closely with the accounting team and other departments to research and resolve accounting issues, maintain accurate financial records, support audits, and contribute to process improvements and IPO readiness initiatives.\nThis hybrid position will be based at ZincFive headquarters in Tualatin, Oregon, with 2-3 days per week in the office and the remaining time remote. This role reports to the VP & Global Corporate Controller.\nStaff Accountant Job Duties:\nSupport month-end and quarter-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and review of general ledger activity\nManage accounting for accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and other assigned balance sheet accounts, including monthly activity and analysis\nPrepare and maintain assigned balance sheet account schedules and investigate and resolve variances\nPrepare recurring and non-recurring journal entries and ensure transactions are recorded accurately and timely in accordance with U.S. GAAP\nAssist with monthly analysis of balance sheet and income statement accounts and identify unusual or unexpected activity\nSupport the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reporting and related schedules\nAssist with annual audits and quarterly reviews by preparing schedules, supporting documentation, and responding to auditor requests\nSupport internal controls, accounting policies, and compliance procedures\nPartner with FP&A and cross-functional teams to research and resolve accounting questions and discrepancies in a timely manner\nIdentify process improvements to enhance efficiency, strengthen controls and improve accounting close activities\nAssist with technical accounting research and implementation of new accounting standards and business transactions\nSupport ad hoc financial analysis, projects, and other accounting initiatives as needed\nJob Requirements:\nBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field\n3+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or manufacturing environment\nWorking knowledge of U.S. GAAP and fundamental accounting principles.\nExperience supporting month-end and quarter-end close processes, account reconciliations, and financial reporting\nSupport external audits and preparing audit documentation\nExperience with accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and balance sheet account reconciliations\nStrong analytical skills with the ability to identify, investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner\nStrong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams\nAbility to work independently while contributing as a member of a team\nEnsure compliance with accounting standards, laws and internal policies\nProficiency with ERP systems such as SAP, NetSuite, or Oracle and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel\nStrong problem-solving skills, a willingness to learn with an continuous improvement mindset \nPreferred Qualifications:\nExposure to SOX compliance, internal controls, or public company accounting requirements\nExperience in a publicly traded or pre-IPO company\nCertified Public Accountant (CPA) or progress toward obtaining a CPA license\nBig Four public accounting experience preferred \nKey Competencies:\nAnalytical and problem-solving skills\nStrong communication skills, both verbal and written\nAttention to detail and accuracy\nFinancial analysis and critical thinking\nPlanning, organization, and time management\nAdaptability in a fast-paced environment\nCollaboration and business partnership\nPhysical Requirements and Working Conditions:\nWork involves sitting, standing, and lifting up to 10 pounds\nRepetitive typing and computer work for extended periods of time\nHigh volume of phone calls for extended periods of time\nOn site and remote home office environment \nMust be able to maintain a level state of alertness while performing this job \nSalary offers will depend on factors that include the location you work from, your level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. \nIn addition, the successful candidate for this position will become eligible for a comprehensive set of outstanding benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401k, paid sick time, paid time off for vacation, paid holidays, paid community service days, professional/personal learning program, and applicable state/federal paid family leave. \n ZincFive is committed to employing a diverse workforce.
