The Embedded Quality Engineer will be responsible for driving quality assurance/quality control activities in a software development and releases to the current production environment, focusing on testing customer facing applications on Ziosk devices which includes back end and FE applications. \nThe Main Course - Responsibilities \nDesign, develop, and execute test plans and test cases for Android firmware on mobile and embedded devices.\nConduct functional, regression, stability, performance, and stress testing on firmware builds.\nExecute payment certification testing across a variety of payment gateways\nValidate OTA (Over-the-Air) firmware updates and ensure backward/forward compatibility.\nCollaborate with firmware developers to identify root causes and drive defect resolution.\nUse Android debugging tools (ADB, logcat, fastboot) to capture logs and perform in-depth issue analysis.\nAutomate repetitive tests\nMaintain test environments, including flashing firmware images, configuring test devices, and managing test labs.\nWork closely with cross-functional teams (development, product, hardware) to meet release timelines and quality goals.\nDocument test results, file detailed bug reports in JIRA (or equivalent), and contribute to test reporting dashboards.\nWhat You Bring to the Table - Qualifications \nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field\n2-5 years of QA/test engineering experience with Android or embedded systems, including connectivity testing (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, LTE, 5G, GPS)\nProficient in Android tools (ADB, fastboot, logcat), Linux/Unix command line, and debugging tools like Wireshark and JIRA\nSkilled in scripting (Python, Bash) and familiar with automation frameworks (Robot Framework, Appium) and CI/CD pipelines\nStrong understanding of Android architecture, firmware lifecycle, and version control systems (Git)\nExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills\nZiosk is an Equal Opportunity employer offering competitive benefits and compensation.
