This role champions quality throughout the software development lifecycle by applying modern testing practices, automation, and continuous improvement approaches.\nThe QA Engineer designs, implements, executes, and maintains effective test strategies that provide confidence in product quality, reduce risk, and support predictable delivery. The role works closely with cross-functional teams-including Development, Product Management, Technical Support, Documentation, and Customer-facing teams-to ensure that quality is built into products from concept through release and into production support.\nKey Responsibilities\nQuality Engineering & Testing\nDevelop, maintain, and execute comprehensive test strategies, plans, case and scripts covering all layers of testing (UI, API, integration, system, and regression).\nPerform a range of testing activities including smoke, functional, integration, compatibility, performance, regression, and exploratory testing (manual and automated).\nDesign, implement, and maintain automated test suites using appropriate tools and frameworks.\nEnsure testing is aligned with Agile delivery practices and integrated into CI/CD pipelines where applicable.\nDefect Management & Analysis\nIdentify, investigate, document, and track defects with clear reproduction steps, impact assessment, and supporting evidence.\nCollaborate with developers to analyse root causes, suggest resolutions, and validate fixes.\nSupport root cause analysis and corrective actions to prevent defect reoccurrence.\nProcess Improvement & Quality Advocacy\nActively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to improve test efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance overall product quality.\nParticipate in and/or lead quality audits, design reviews, and improvement projects.\nPromote quality best practices, standards, and a “shift-left” quality mindset across delivery teams.\nEnvironments & Tooling\nInstall, configure, and manage test environments, configurations, and data.\nEffectively utilize QA and development tools, including test management, defect tracking, and collaboration platforms.\nCustomer & Cross-Functional Support\nSupport investigation of customer-reported issues in collaboration with Technical Support and Engineering teams.\nWhere required, work directly with customers or internal stakeholders to diagnose and resolve product quality or performance issues.\nGeneral\nProvide accurate effort estimates, risk assessments, and input into delivery planning.\nMaintain clear, concise, and auditable test documentation.\nPerform other duties as assigned to support team and organisational\nobjectives.\nRequirements\nEducation &Certification\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience).\nISEB / ISTQB Foundation certification (or equivalent).\nExperience\nMinimum of 4 years’ experience in Software Quality Assurance within an Agile environment.\nHands-on experience with test automation using one or more of the following: Selenium, Postman, JMeter, Ranorex (or equivalent modern tools).\nExperience testing web, mobile, and Windows desktop applications.\nExperience working with CI/CD pipelines and Agile/Scrum delivery models.\nExperience using Azure DevOps for test management, defect tracking, and collaboration.\nExperience using virtualised or cloud-based environments (e.g. Azure VMs, VMware, Hyper-V).\nCore Skills & Competencies\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.\nAbility to analyse requirements and design effective, risk-based test approaches.\nStrong understanding of software quality principles and user experience considerations.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and with customers.\nHighly organised, with strong time-management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.\nSelf-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working independently or as part of a global, distributed team.\nAdaptable and resilient in fast-changing environments.\nDesired Skills & Experience\nExperience working in onshore / offshore or distributed team models.\nExposure to regulated or compliance-driven environments.\nFamiliarity with performance, accessibility, and security testing concepts.\nDomain knowledge within healthcare, dental, or medical software is advantageous.\nCommitment to continuous learning through self-development, training, or professional communities.\nBenefits\nWork remotely Monday - Friday, 40 hours a week (no weekends)\nHealth Care Reimbursement\nActive Lifestyle Reimbursement\nQuarterly Home Office Reimbursement\nDid we mention it's REMOTE?!!\nOne of our core values at Zipdev is \"Be authentic.\" that's why we encourage you to answer the application form in your own words; we are interested in getting to know you, not a digital assistant.\nWondering how our remote environment or our payment method work?
