Today, Docplanner operates in 13 countries, serving over 90 million patients monthly with the support of 300k+ specialists and a global team of over 2,500 people.\n\nThe Role\n\nDocplanner is looking for a Staff Engineer to set the technical direction for the Marketplace, the patient-facing platform for searching, comparing, and booking doctors. The Marketplace is undergoing a major architectural shift, moving from a legacy PHP monolith to a company monorepo using vertical slices and the strangler pattern. \n\nYour responsibilities include:\n\nOwn the Technical Direction of the Marketplace: Accountable for the target architecture across search, listings, profiles, and booking flows. You will guide the migration from the monolith to the monorepo, ensuring data, business logic, and persistence are moved natively. You will transform Marketplace capabilities into reusable building blocks with clear, versioned contracts for the rest of the Docplanner portfolio.\n\nLead Through AI-Native Engineering: Ship production changes by directing AI coding agents, prototyping risky migrations, and driving AI-assisted development for legacy code analysis, contract generation, and testing.\n\nMultiply the Teams Around You: Partner with Engineering and Product Managers, mentor senior engineers on system design, and contribute to the Staff+ community of practice to maintain consistent technical standards.\n\nWymagania\nWhat we're looking for\n\nYou have led the technical direction across several teams, with decisions that held up in production.\n\nProven experience taking a large legacy system apart while it kept serving real traffic (strangler pattern, anti-corruption layers, data migration, dual-write pitfalls).\n\nStrong background in distributed systems and backend architecture in a polyglot environment.\n\nSolid hands-on experience using AI to accelerate software development, with good judgment on when to rely on it.\n\nAbility to direct AI agents for code generation while maintaining design, correctness, and security.\n\nExperience mentoring and raising the bar for engineers.\n\nFluent English.\n\nBonus Points\n\nExperience with two-sided marketplaces, search and discovery, or booking and scheduling systems.\n\nExperience with monorepos at scale (build tooling, code ownership, shared platform conventions).\n\nExperience exposing product capabilities to AI agents.\n\nExperience in healthcare or other regulated domains where data privacy and security shape the architecture.\n\nOferujemy\nWhat we offer\n\nSalary: A salary adequate to your experience and skills.\n\nFlexibility: Remote or hybrid work model with a hub in Warsaw;
