Must be able to work with business stakeholders (internal and external) to review and refine data requirements, validate outputs, and ensure the accuracy and consistency of information flowing through the platform.\nHolds responsibility for ensuring data quality and compliance with established protocols for product implementation, actively identifying and resolving data integrity issues. Requires strong capabilities in desktop manipulation of large, and sometimes complex, datasets. Expertise in database querying, query optimization, data mapping, and lifecycle management will be critical. Must be able to work effectively in a dynamic work environment managing and prioritizing multiple concurrent projects. The successful candidate balances the need for collaboration with independent effort to ensure timely delivery of business needs.\nPosition Responsibilities\nDesign, write, and optimize SQL queries that power dairy predictive algorithms and customer-facing platform analytics, ensuring peak performance and efficiency.\nSupport the deployment and lifecycle management of dairy analytics and predictive algorithms by preparing, validating, and transforming input data and reviewing algorithm outputs for internal consistency.\nPerform data mapping and modeling exercises to translate business and scientific requirements into accurate data and analytic specifications for technical development teams.\nPerform quality checks on available data to ensure completeness, internal consistency, and suitability for use in production models and customer-facing outputs.\nPrepare documentation and technical specifications describing data structures, query logic, data flows, and process details for business and technical stakeholders.\nMaintain accurate logs of pending and completed projects to support accurate prioritization of effort. Actively manage pending requests and reprioritization in consultation with department-level and business leadership as business needs evolve globally.\nCollaborate with R&D and data science teams to support scientific innovation by ensuring the data infrastructure enables rapid iteration on dairy algorithms and models.\nQualifications\nBachelor's degree in Animal Science, Computer Science, Information Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or related field.\n3+ years of experience with relational SQL databases, including query writing, optimization, and performance tuning (required).\n2+ years of animal agriculture (especially dairy) experience or demonstrated familiarity with animal agriculture data ecosystems.\nBusiness or data analyst experience covering requirements gathering through to solution delivery is preferred.\nAbility to provide data analysis for multiple projects concurrently.\nExcellent data organizational skills required.\nStrong communication skills are essential.\nAbility to work across time zones in support of global business units and development teams.\nTechnical Skills\nAdvanced SQL proficiency required, including experience with query optimization and performance tuning.\nMicrosoft Excel or related experience is required.\nExperience with dairy software platforms including DC305, Bovisync, PCDart, or DHIPlus and understanding of underlying data elements is preferred.\nExperience with systems such as Databricks, data lakes, or data warehouses is preferred.\nExperience with Python or other scripting languages is preferred.\nExperience with AI-supported technical implementation is preferred.\nFamiliarity with data visualization tools is a plus.\nWhat We're Looking For\nOrganized and dependable with a high level of accountability.\nWorks effectively and collaboratively in a team environment; comfortable making constructive contributions in settings with diverse personalities and technical levels, united by their belief in our technology and industry solutions.\nUses initiative and takes ownership in proactively working to ensure complete and high-quality deliverables.\nComfortable in a rapidly changing environment.\nSelf-motivated and able to work independently to progress assigned and emergent tasks to completion with minimal oversight.\nDemonstrated commitment to achieving objectives in a manner that is supportive of Zoetis values.\nThe US base salary range for this full-time position is $80,000-120,000. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the base pay target range for new hire salaries for the position.
