You will play a crucial role in maintaining and calibrating various types of equipment to guarantee the quality and consistency of experimental data. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a solid understanding of measurement principles and techniques. The role also supports laboratory operations in a cGxP (current Good x Practice) environment; therefore, the ability to operate in and maintain compliance is critical. The role also involves reviewing and approving the calibration and documentation work of others, using a validated Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), and may provide guidance and direction to calibration vendors and contract staff, as required.\nPosition Responsibilities\nPerform calibration, verification, and validation of laboratory instruments, environmental monitoring systems (EMS using REES systems), and equipment according to established procedures and standards. Hands-on experience with the installation, commissioning, and implementation of REES nodes, temperature probes, and CO₂ sensors is preferred.\nMaintain calibration schedules and records for all laboratory equipment, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.\nReview and approve the calibration work of teammates and vendors.\nTroubleshoot and diagnose issues with measurement equipment, performing necessary repairs or coordinating with external vendors for servicing.\nDevelop and implement procedures for the proper handling, storage, and usage of measurement standards and reference materials.\nParticipate in the selection and procurement of new metrology equipment, evaluating technical specifications and suitability for laboratory applications.\nServe as a subject matter expert in the computerized maintenance management system (SAP enterprise resource planning tool), including day-to-day use, adding and removing assets from the system, work order lifecycle oversight, and troubleshooting.\nProvide managers and related groups with visibility into upcoming and pending work, metrics, and workload/workforce assessments.\nEducation and Technical Skills Requirements\nBachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Physics, Metrology, Engineering, or an appropriate technical discipline, or comparable advanced metrology/calibration training and certifications.\nStrong knowledge of measurement principles, statistical analysis, and calibration techniques.\nStrong understanding of the common instruments and measuring devices used in a research organization, including EMS (REES points), balances, mechanical/digital pipettes, multimeters, digital thermometers, and optical instruments.\nExcellent attention to detail and the ability to accurately and reliably work with large sets of numerical data.\nAbility to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.\nAbility to learn new tasks and new systems.\nStrong desire and commitment to providing excellent support to scientific and laboratory operations personnel and other internal team members.\nExcellent communication skills to interact with internal teams and external vendors.\nAbility to understand and consistently follow safety protocols and standard operating procedures.\nAbility to travel up to 5% of the time.\nAbility to lift equipment up to 50 lbs.\nDesired Qualifications\nFamiliarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) such as SAP.\nFamiliarity with metrology standards and regulations such as ISO 17025, ISO 9001, and ANSI/NCSL Z540.\nKnowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs), especially with respect to laboratory equipment maintenance documentation requirements.\nFull timeRegularColleagueAny unsolicited resumes sent to Zoetis from a third party, such as an Agency recruiter, including unsolicited resumes sent to a Zoetis mailing address, fax machine or email address, directly to Zoetis employees, or to Zoetis resume database will be considered Zoetis property.
