It is accountable to operate Utility Systems, equipment, and processes in accordance with established operating procedures, approved guidelines and applicable regulations and company policies. It also provides predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance to Utility Equipment and Systems. Will work closely with the Maintenance planner to negotiate and schedule availability of equipment for such maintenance task to not affect plant or production activities. Utilities systems may include but are not limited to compressed air, boilers, chillers, water systems, cooling towers among others equipment. Operations to be covered include shift schedule to ensure 5 days / 24-hour coverage, including potential for special shifts or assignments. Also part of an on call rotation.\nPosition Responsibilities:\nThe essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to:\nCustomer Services\nEnsure the continuous operation of the Utilities equipment to comply with applicable regulations, and improve efficiency, focusing on productivity while minimizing downtime.\nRegulatory Compliance & Recordkeeping\nComply with all the applicable regulations such as: cGMP, OSHA, EPA, DOH, PRASA, approved procedures and Quality and EHS Corporate Standards; Complete routine operational data gathering in established checklists and forms.\nDocument, inspections, preventive and corrective maintenance activities as per applicable procedures and/or guidelines.\nOperations Management\nPerforms skilled and semi-skilled maintenance activities depending upon area of assignment including performing basic trade activities.\nPerforms scheduled preventive and corrective maintenance activities to Utilities equipment and systems.\nPerform monitoring/operation/control of utilities systems processes, and equipment as required.\nWill appropriately and in a timely fashion document as required monitoring readings, test results, changes to operational parameters, maintenance activities and any other performed action and or system/equipment observed problems.\nPerforms troubleshooting and repairs, among others, as applicable.\nClean, lubricate, and maintain machines, tools, and equipment to remove grease, rust, stains etc.….\nSupport the creation/modification of Preventive Maintenance Schedules.\nProvide support to capital projects, validations, inspections, investigations, and special task as required.\nIdentify and implement object improvements.\nExpertise to read parts manuals, assembly instructions, troubleshooting guides, hydraulic schematics, pneumatic schematics, and electrical schematics.\nSupport RFT, TPM and lean strategies and other change processes assigned.\nPerforms all duties in a safe manner and keeps all employees aware of dangers in work area. Practices excellent housekeeping in work area.\nPerforms accuracy verifications on objects to ensure they can produce to required specifications.\nSupport set up process for utilities equipment.\nKnowledge of the Utilities operation.\nIdentify and update information of the critical spare parts inventory levels.\nPerform in-process sampling and testing of selected operations as required.\nSupport SOPs Revision\nTrain colleagues and peers in required SOP and Utilities systems to facilitate the cross training within the team.\nGenerate Purchase requisitions for services or goods required in the Utilities operation / maintenance.\nEducation and Experience:\nEducation\nMinimum High School diploma/GED\nPreferred Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Mechanic, Electronic, Electrical, Refrigeration, Tool and Die Maker, or Instrumentation.\nPreferred Low Pressure Boiler Certificate and High Pressure Boiler Certificate\nExperience\nTwo + years of assignment-related maintenance/equipment experience or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job as listed in the essential functions or experience in at least 1 operational functions and intermediate knowledge in at least 2 operational functions.\nExperience in operation and maintenance of Utilities equipment is highly desirable.\nTrade/ Technical License when applicable by local or federal regulations is required (Water and Wastewater, Electrician, Refrigeration) - if applicant does not have license, expectation will be to achieve licensure within appropriate timeframe (i.e., 1 yr. or 16 months) and willing to obtain high- and low-pressure boiler certifications.\nTechnical Skills\nTroubleshooting and diagnosing problems.\nReading and understand blueprints, drawings, specifications, and technical materials.\nDetermining solutions.\nHigh level operational skills in at least one (1) of the essential functions and basic skills in at least two (2) of the operational functions. The employee must lift weighting up to 30 pounds; and/or move and/or transport objects/waste. Exposed to variant shifts and extended hours. Subject to stressful environment.\nMust be able to walk or stand for long periods of time.\nMust be able to reach above shoulder level, bend/stoop, kneel, push/pull, and handle/grip frequently.\nMust be comfortable working in varying temperatures.\nMust be able to work scheduled 40 hours with the ability to work overtime as needed.\nFrequent lifting and carrying of 5 to 30 lbs.\nRegular reaching, bending, stooping, and twisting.\nRepetitive motion and substantial movement of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.\n Must be willing to work off shift.\nWork Environment:\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee very frequently works in operational environments (Utilities and Machine Shop Areas, among other areas) The noise of these work environments can vary from typical office noises to high (above 85 dBA) machinery noises and high temperatures.
