Plans, mentors and ensures that the department can provide the needed skill sets and resources to support the development of the latest medical devices within resuscitation and acute critical care. The Electrical Engineering Manager partners with the Director of Electrical Engineering to coordinate task assignments of the electrical engineering staff with the various development and sustaining projects within the R&D Department.\nEssential Functions\nThe Electrical Engineering Manager has management and development experience within a highly regulated technical environment such as medical devices within the following areas:\nPartner with multiple project Directors and Managers of Software, Mechanical, and Design Quality groups to assess resource needs and recommend assignments.\nMeet with individual engineers to track assignments and progress, provide technical mentoring, assist in career development, coordinate training, track and administer time-off requests, and contribute to performance reviews.\nConduct budget/expenditure planning and tracking, logistics support, vendor interaction, and departmental improvements.\nCross functional interdepartmental support to include Manufacturing, Procurement, Quality Assurance, Service, and Regulatory Affairs.\nReview technical specifications, design documentation, and test reports that support electrical designs.\nBe responsible for tactical planning and matching of resources to assignments.\nReview manufacturing and customer issues to plan and prioritize technical responses.\nProvide logistical support for the R&D department, including managing lab test equipment, SOP application, IT support, vendor management, shipping assistance and general office management.\n Required/Preferred Education and Experience\n BS Electrical Engineering with 7+ years of development required \n 3+ years of leadership experience on an electrical engineering team. required and\n Technical experience and expertise across the spectrum of electrical engineering, including analog and digital design, PCB development, communication protocols, and EMC required and\n • Development experience in a regulated industry setting, including the ability to interpret and apply international safety and performance standards (e.g., IEC 60601, FCC, and IPC). required \nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities\nProven application of debugging techniques. \nExcellent communications skills, both written and verbal. \nTravel Requirements\n 10 to 15%\nPhysical Demands\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.\nStanding - Occasionally \nWalking - Occasionally \nSitting - Constantly \nTalking - Occasionally \nHearing - Occasionally \nRepetitive Motions - Frequently \nZOLL is a fast-growing company that operates in more than 140 countries around the world.
