Tasks and responsibilities expected for this role include those captured by lower role specific levels.\nThis role involves working closely with engineers, production technicians, and operations teams to support multiple programs and value streams.\nKey Responsibilities\nLead avionics assembly execution for a product line, program, or production cell.\nOwn assembly sequencing, build standards, and workmanship consistency.\nPartner with manufacturing engineering on tooling, fixtures, and work instruction development.\nSupport production readiness reviews, rate increases, and design transitions.\nLead workmanship investigations and corrective action implementation.\nTrain, coach, and support the avionics assembly team of all levels.\nServe as a key interface between production, quality, and engineering teams.\nResponsibilities (Level III)\nBuild complex avionics assemblies and high-density wiring harnesses with minimal supervision.\nExecute first-article, prototype, or low-rate initial production builds.\nInterpret incomplete or ambiguous documentation and work with engineering to resolve issues.\nPerform detailed inspections and advanced continuity and isolation testing.\nSupport root cause investigations related to assembly workmanship.\nMentor and train Avionics Assembler I-II personnel.\nProvide feedback on manufacturability and assembly process improvements.\nResponsibilities (Level II):\nAssemble avionics components, electromechanical assemblies, and wiring harnesses from engineering drawings and schematics.\nPerform wire terminations, connector installations, and harness routing to specification.\nConduct continuity checks and basic functional testing.\nIdentify and escalate non-conformances and workmanship issues.\nMaintain accurate as-built documentation and material traceability via MES.\nAdhere to AS9100, FAA, and internal quality requirements.\nCollaborate with quality and manufacturing engineering to resolve discrepancies.\nResponsibilities (Level I):\nAssemble basic avionics components and sub-assemblies following work instructions and engineering drawings.\nPerform wire preparation tasks including cutting, stripping, crimping, and labeling.\nAssist with routing, dressing, and securing wiring in accordance with defined standards.\nConduct visual inspections to identify obvious defects or workmanship issues.\nUse basic hand tools and test equipment such as multimeters under supervision.\nAccurately complete assembly work instructions and production documentation.\nFollow ESD, FOD, safety, and quality procedures at all times.\nSupport senior assemblers and technicians as needed.\nQualifications:\nHigh school diploma (or equivalent) or technical degree with extensive aerospace experience.\n7+ years of avionics or high-reliability electronics assembly experience.\nDemonstrated leadership without formal people management.\nDeep understanding of aerospace quality systems and production risk.\nExceptionally strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nTechnical degree\nIPC 610 certification\nIPC 620 Certification\nPay range for this role\n$34—$39 USD\nWhat's in it for you:\nBenefits: \nCompetitive total compensation package \nComprehensive benefit package options include medical, dental, vision, life, and more.\n401k with company-match \n3 weeks of paid time off each year\n40 hours of sick time\n12 annual company holidays\nWhy Join Zone 5 Technologies?\nInnovative Environment: Work on cutting-edge technology that is shaping the future of defense and aerospace.\nCollaborative Culture: Join a team of passionate professionals dedicated to pushing the boundaries of what’s possible.\nCareer Growth: Opportunities for professional development and career advancement.\nIf you are passionate about unmanned aircraft technology and want to be a part of a dynamic and growing company, we would love to hear from you.
