This includes areas such as app architecture, shared modules, our design system, observability, developer tooling and CI/CD.\nThe team is accountable for keeping these foundations reliable, scalable and easy for our product squads to build on. You’ll help shape the direction of mobile engineering at Zopa, improve the developer experience, and reduce the underlying technical complexity that product engineers need to manage.\nThe Mobile Platform team does not own individual customer journeys or build product features on behalf of squads. Product teams remain responsible for their customer experiences and the services they own, including responding to incidents within those product-owned areas. Instead, your focus will be on creating and maintaining the shared capabilities, tooling and standards that enable those teams to deliver safely and effectively.\nYou’ll also be part of a strong iOS engineering community, contributing to standards, sharing knowledge and helping us continue to mature our native engineering practice.\nA Day in the life:\nPartner closely with the Engineering Manager, Principal Mobile Engineer and Head of Mobile Engineering to deliver Zopa’s mobile strategy.\nHelp shape the technical direction and standards for iOS across Zopa.\nDesign and evolve shared modules, APIs, architecture and developer tooling that enable multiple teams to build and ship with confidence.\nIdentify technical risks early, using data, profiling and observability to improve performance, reliability and developer experience.\nStay highly hands-on, delivering production-quality Swift and SwiftUI code across platform and customer-facing product work.\nRaise the capability of other engineers through pairing, code reviews, technical discussions and knowledge sharing.\nWork closely with Product, Design, Backend and Android colleagues to make well-rounded decisions, influence direction and respect each discipline’s expertise.\nAbout you:\nStrong experience building and maintaining customer-facing iOS applications using Swift and SwiftUI.\nDeep knowledge of iOS development, including concurrency, performance, memory management, testing, accessibility and security.\nSound architectural and API-design judgement, with a focus on simple, maintainable solutions and an excellent developer experience.\nA proactive engineer who identifies problems, shapes practical solutions and influences improvements beyond their immediate team.\nA collaborative teammate who raises the capability of others through coaching, pairing and knowledge sharing.\nComfortable constructively challenging ideas, while remaining open-minded and willing to change course when better evidence emerges.\nGenuine curiosity about mobile engineering and the evolving iOS platform.\nAdded bonus:\nBackground in fintech, banking or another regulated, high-trust environment where reliability and customer confidence matter.\nA track record of building shared libraries, platform capabilities or design systems that help engineering teams move faster.\nStrong hands-on knowledge of UIKit and its place within modern iOS development.\nProven impact improving mobile CI/CD pipelines, release processes and developer tooling.\nConfidence using AI-assisted development tools thoughtfully to improve productivity and code
