This role encompasses the complete dispatch lifecycle-from daily route assignments and driver coordination to emergency response and real-time problem-solving. You'll ensure seamless service delivery by orchestrating drivers, vehicles, and routes while maintaining constant communication with school districts, families, and internal teams. You've got great communication skills, a knack for prioritizing what matters most, and the kind of steady, reliable presence that makes people trust you to get things handled.\nResponsibilities:\nDaily Operations & Route Management\nDirect and monitor daily assignments, schedule drivers, and assign vehicles to ensure full route coverage and on-time completion of all driver activities.\nCommunicate all relevant details of driving assignments to drivers to ensure proper execution, and assist with routing directions and special service assignments.\nCoordinate vehicle service and repairs with the Maintenance Manager to ensure uninterrupted service delivery.\nCommunication & Emergency Response\nRespond to emergency calls and coordinate the emergency response network.\nNotify stakeholders and location personnel of all route changes, emergencies, accidents, breakdowns, or service disruptions, and handle customer concerns promptly and professionally.\nProvide real-time operational support to drivers including assistance with traffic issues, routing questions, and emergency situations, escalating unresolved issues appropriately.\nCompliance & Administrative Operations\nMaintain route documentation and records including contracts, customer information, route changes, maps, vehicle assignments, and driver details to ensure accuracy and compliance with district and state requirements.\nEnsure strict adherence to dispatch standard operating procedures and recommend disciplinary action for policy violations in coordination with management.\nTrack and document operational activities, incidents, and communications for reporting purposes while partnering with Location Manager and Safety Manager on compliance objectives.\nRequirements:\nBasic Qualifications:\nHigh school diploma or equivalentProficiency with Microsoft or G Suite applications (Sheets, Docs, Slides, etc.).\nExperience in high-pressure, time-sensitive operations (e.g., transportation, logistics, field services, customer service, hospitality, or similar fast-paced environments).\nPreferred Qualifications:\nBackground in a leadership, supervisory, or management capacity within fast-paced operational environments.\nPrevious school busing or transportation experience, either as a driver or dispatcher is a plus.\nKnowledge of state DOT/DMV safety rules and company compliance expectations.\nExcellent oral and written communication skills with strong interpersonal abilitiesExperience working in a union environment.\nComprehensive knowledge of the local area, including traffic patterns, road restrictions, neighborhoods, and geography of the school district is highly desirableStrong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills with demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, coordinate scheduling and task assignments, maintain accurate records and filing systems, and track assets and inventory.","description_format":"text","description_chars":4207,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":null,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":{"level":"high_school","optional":false},"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Public Transport"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-09-28T20:42:37Z"}],"liveness":{"score":90,"band":"hot","label":"Hiring now","p_open":1,"p_active":0.903,"p_room":1,"age_days":3,"expected_fill_days":75,"reasons":["conf:10","velocity","win:early"],"computed_at":"2026-10-02T05:45:00Z"},"pay":{"stated_usd_annual":64000,"is_top_pay":false},"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/zum-dispatcher","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/zum-dispatcher.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-03T03:10:26Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","usage":{"tier":"crawler","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":2829,"day_limit":5000,"remaining_today":2171,"minute_limit":60,"resets_at":"2026-10-04T00:00:00Z"}}}
