As a maintenance technician at Zūm, you will help ensure that Zūm's fleet of school buses is kept in safe and optimal operating condition, by determining required repairs and maintenance in accordance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.\nResponsibilities\nDiagnose malfunctions and perform vehicle repairs (e.g. adjust/test steering, electrical, cooling, lubricating, braking systems, drive trains, suspensions, power steering units, clutches, transmissions and oil, temperature, gas regulating components, adjust/test/rebuild engines, etc.) and related assigned duties within qualification level, following all relevant Federal, State/ and local guidelines and requirements.\nTest-drive vehicles to ensure repair resolved the problem.\nArrange for and obtain appropriate inspections and approval of all major repairs before the vehicle is released from the maintenance facility.\nMaintain a safe, clean, productive, and efficient work area including ensuring the work area complies with all relevant Federal, State/Provincial, and local guidelines and requirements.\nIdentify and report any additional maintenance and/or repairs found necessary in conducting assigned repairs and maintenance including repairs and maintenance required to be performed by Technicians with a higher qualification level.\nRecord time spent, parts used and repairs and/or maintenance conducted on the appropriate form.\nPerform road calls and on the road repairs as assigned.\nAdvise Lead Technician of unsafe maintenance conditions or practices and/or vehicle abuse.\nQualifications\nMinimum of two to four years medium/heavy truck Fleet mechanic repair experience.\nDiagnostic, Electrical, and AC skills are a must.\nTechnical knowledge of major vehicle systems and diesel equipment is required.\nHave previous fleet experience and are familiar with diesel and gasoline systems.\nPossess the recommended minimum Hand tools for a Diesel Technician.\nAbility to use good judgment and Decision-Making skills.\nASE Certification desirable but not required.","description_format":"text","description_chars":2126,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":2,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":null,"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Energy & Utilities","Information Technology","Internet of Things"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-09-23T21:31:40Z"}],"liveness":{"score":86,"band":"hot","label":"Hiring now","p_open":1,"p_active":0.86,"p_room":1,"age_days":0,"expected_fill_days":44,"reasons":["conf:2","win:early"],"computed_at":"2026-09-24T05:45:00Z"},"pay":{"stated_usd_annual":64000,"is_top_pay":false},"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/zum-student-transportation-connected-mobility-experience-diesel-technicianmechanic-ii","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/zum-student-transportation-connected-mobility-experience-diesel-technicianmechanic-ii.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-09-24T07:34:41Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers"}}
