This role encompasses comprehensive vehicle diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance across our fleet. You maintain an organized workspace where tools are properly stored, documentation is complete, and every repair meets professional standards.\nResponsibilities\nVehicle Diagnostics & Repair\nDiagnose malfunctions and perform vehicle repairs including steering, electrical, cooling, lubricating, braking systems, drivetrains, suspensions, steering systems, clutches, transmissions, and oil, temperature, gas regulating components\n\nAdjust, test, and rebuild engines and related assigned duties within qualification level, in accordance with all relevant Federal, State/Provincial and local guidelines and requirements\n\nPerform test drives during Preventative Maintenance inspections to identify driver reported issues and conduct test drives after service to confirm repairs have been completed successfully\n\nInstall, program, replace and verify telematic devices\n\nMaintenance Operations\nPerform the work needed to implement preventive maintenance for the vehicles serviced by this maintenance facility\n\nPerform the work needed to complete unscheduled repairs to the vehicles serviced by this maintenance facility\n\nPerform road calls and on-the-road repairs as assigned\n\nRecord time spent, parts used and repairs and/or maintenance conducted on the work tablet and/or authorized form\n\nSafety & Compliance\nMaintain a safe, clean, productive, and efficient work area including ensuring the work area is in compliance with all relevant Federal, State/Provincial, local guidelines and requirements, and company Housekeeping standards and safety regulations\n\nPerform work within scope of duties and in accordance with DOT compliance requirements\n\nWork assigned shift and overtime as needed\n\nQualifications\nBasic Qualifications:\n5 years of fleet experience in Diesel, Heavy/Med duty fleets\n\nMinimum of five years Auto/Truck or Bus mechanical repair experience\n\nExperience with compliance with the local applicable DOT compliance of Med/Heavy Trucks\n\nComputer proficiency for fleet management systems and documentation\n\nPossess the recommended minimum hand tools for a Medium and Heavy Duty and Diesel Technician\n\nStrong experience with computerized diagnostics\n\nAbility to use good judgment and decision-making skills\n\nBackground in planning and scheduling maintenance repairs (Daily, Weekly, Monthly)\n\nWillingness to work flexible schedules\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\nValid CDL License (Must be able to obtain within the first 90 days of employment)\n\nASE Certification in brakes, suspension, engine, electrical, A/C or a Master School Bus and/or a Master Truck Technician","description_format":"text","description_chars":3660,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":5,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":null,"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":["Flexible schedule"],"hiring_locations":[],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Energy & Utilities","Information Technology","Internet of Things"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-09-23T21:31:40Z"}],"liveness":{"score":86,"band":"hot","label":"Hiring now","p_open":1,"p_active":0.86,"p_room":1,"age_days":0,"expected_fill_days":44,"reasons":["conf:2","win:early","comp:junior"],"computed_at":"2026-09-24T05:45:00Z"},"pay":null,"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/zum-student-transportation-connected-mobility-experience-technician-i","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/zum-student-transportation-connected-mobility-experience-technician-i.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-09-24T13:57:48Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers"}}
