Then this opportunity may be the right fit for you.\nAs a Senior Data Scientist, you will play a key role in transforming data into actionable insights, predictive models and AI-driven solutions that support strategic decision-making across Zurich.\nWithin the Zurich Customer Active Management (ZCAM) team, you will help unlock the value of customer, operational and financial data to improve business performance, enhance customer understanding and enable data-driven decision-making across the organization.\nYou will work on a broad portfolio of analytical initiatives, including customer intelligence, forecasting, machine learning applications and AI-driven business solutions. Typical use cases include KPI and financial forecasting, customer churn prediction, recommender systems, fraud detection and claims analytics.\nBy combining strong statistical and machine learning expertise with business understanding, you will help turn complex data into measurable business impact.\nThis role is based in Ljubljana (Slovenia) with a hybrid working model.\nWhat you will do\nDevelop and deploy statistical, machine learning and AI models to support strategic business objectives;\nDesign and maintain forecasting solutions for key customer, operational and financial KPIs using time series and predictive modelling techniques;\nBuild customer intelligence solutions, including customer segmentation, lifetime value estimation, retention and churn prediction;\nApply machine learning techniques to fraud detection, claims analytics, risk assessment and related business use cases;\nExplore large and complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, risks and opportunities;\nDesign and run experiments (for example A/B tests) to measure the impact of data-driven initiatives;\nCollaborate closely with business stakeholders to define use cases and communicate analytical findings in a clear and impactful way;\nWork alongside data engineering teams to ensure the availability of high-quality analytical datasets for modelling and analysis;\nSupport deployment, monitoring and continuous improvement of machine learning models in production environments;\nCreate clear visualizations and dashboards to support decision-making and storytelling with data;\nContribute to the development of data science best practices, model governance standards and analytical methodologies at Zurich.\nWhat you bring\n6+ years of experience in data science, advanced analytics and machine learning;\nUniversity degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science or a related quantitative discipline (equivalent experience acceptable);\nStrong foundation in statistical modelling, predictive analytics and machine learning techniques (for example regression, tree-based methods, clustering, classification);\nPractical experience with forecasting methods, particularly time series modelling;\nStrong programming skills in Python and/or R, as well as SQL;\nUnderstanding of the machine learning lifecycle, including data preparation, validation, monitoring and performance evaluation;\nExperience working with large, complex datasets and data pipelines in a production or enterprise environment;\nStrong problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business problems into analytical solutions;\nExcellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex analytical concepts to non-technical audiences;\nStrong curiosity, business acumen and willingness to challenge assumptions through data-driven insights;\nAbility to work effectively in cross-functional, agile teams and manage multiple initiatives in parallel;\nFluent written and spoken English.\nNice to have\nExposure to large-scale data environments in cloud platforms, particularly Azure-based analytics ecosystems;\nBackground in insurance, financial services or other customer-centric industries;\nHands-on use of Databricks, Spark or similar distributed data processing frameworks;\nFamiliarity with MLOps practices and model deployment frameworks for operationalizing machine learning solutions;\nKnowledge of responsible AI and model risk management practices (for example bias assessment, model documentation, explainability).\nAdditional information\nWe look forward to receiving your online application.\nZurich supports flexible working arrangements and recognizes that talent comes in many forms.
