And we're only getting started.\nAbout the role:\nWe are looking for a product-driven engineer to own native mobile app development in Italy. You will build and ship ZURU's consumer mobile apps on iOS and Android, and be the in-house reference for how native apps should be built - including reviewing and gating code produced by AI agents or by other developers, so we always have someone who truly understands what is happening under the hood.\nResponsibilities:\nYou are a multi-hat developer with an entrepreneurial streak: an indie / solo developer or ex-startup engineer who has built several apps end to end and published them on the App Store and Google Play. You know the app-development world first-hand, you think about the product and the user as much as the code, and you are used to making decisions on your own.\nDesign, build and ship native mobile apps for iOS (Swift) and Android (Kotlin), from first prototype to store release.\n\nOwn the native mobile technology area: architecture, tooling, build and release pipelines, store submission.\n\nReview and quality-gate native code, including code generated with AI coding agents, and fix it when it goes wrong.\n\nWork directly with product designers and product owners to shape features, requirements and user experience.\n\nRapidly prototype new product ideas and turn the successful ones into production-quality apps.\n\nAdvise the wider team on native vs. cross-platform trade-offs and on mobile best practices.\n\nMust-have\nSolid, hands-on experience with native iOS development in Swift (SwiftUI / UIKit).\n\nWorking knowledge of native Android development in Kotlin.\n\nStrong product sense and the ability to work autonomously across the full lifecycle of an app.\n\nDaily, fluent use of AI coding tools and the judgement to review their output critically.\n\nNice to have\nExperience with React Native or other cross-platform frameworks, and a clear view of when to use them.\n\nStartup or founder experience, or having run your own apps as a business.\n\nExperience integrating apps with connected devices / hardware (e.g. cameras, Bluetooth).\n\nFamiliarity with a Node.js backend stack.\n\nWho thrives at ZURU\nThis isn't a 9-to-5.
