And we're only getting started.\nRoles and Responsibilities:\nWe are looking for a product-driven web engineer to own our websites and web apps in Italy. You will build and maintain static websites and web applications using React and Node.js, working side by side with our product designers to turn their ideas into robust, well-engineered products, and giving them the technical confidence they need when judging how things should be built.\nYou will:\nBuild and maintain ZURU's product websites (including static / marketing sites) and web applications with React.\n\nWork on the Node.js backend: extend it, maintain it and keep it healthy.\n\nTake ownership of existing web codebases, improve their quality and keep them maintainable over time.\n\nPartner with product designers: translate designs into production, advise on technical feasibility and help them make sound decisions.\n\nRapidly prototype new ideas and bring the successful ones to production.\n\nReview and quality-gate web code, including code produced with AI coding agents.\n\nMust have:\nStrong, hands-on experience with React and its ecosystem (TypeScript, modern build tooling, state management, routing).\n\nExperience building static websites and performant web apps (e.g. Next.js or similar, SEO, accessibility, performance).\n\nWorking experience with Node.js backends and REST/API integration.\n\nAbility to read, understand and maintain codebases you did not write.\n\nStrong product sense and a collaborative attitude towards design.\n\nDaily, fluent use of AI coding tools and the judgement to review their output critically.\n\nNice to have:\nExposure to mobile or native development (e.g. React Native), so you can contribute there if needed.\n\nExperience working closely with designers or in a design-led team.\n\nStartup experience or having shipped your own web products.\n\nCI/CD, hosting and deployment experience for web projects\n\nWho thrives at ZURU\nThis isn't a 9-to-5.
