The Software Engineer will help migrate the site and deliver full-stack features across customer acquisition, authentication, subscriptions, e-commerce, and supporting platform capabilities.\n\nResponsibilities\nWork on a cross-functional team to deliver exciting features that span our microservice backend, zwift.com client, e-commerce platform, subscription management platform, and admin tooling\nDesign, build, and maintain high-performance, reusable, and reliable code in multiple programming languages and platforms\nHelp establish a supported web-platform foundation, including rendering and caching strategies, CDN behavior, API access patterns, CI/CD, observability, automated testing, and decommissioning of legacy functionality\nBuild reusable page templates, structured content models, and CMS integrations that enable governed self-service publishing for Marketing and content teams\nCollaborate with other engineers through code reviews, technical discussions, and pair programming\nParticipate in on-call support, monitoring, and troubleshooting of all services owned by the team\nIdentify technical risks and help build mitigation plans\nUse AI-assisted development thoughtfully to accelerate activities such as codebase analysis, migration planning, test generation, documentation, and component consolidation while maintaining appropriate engineering review and quality standards\nWork with engineers and product managers to scope and plan projects\nParticipate in the interview process\n\nSkills\nBS/MS in Computer Science and/or relevant technical area\n2-5 years of software development experience\nStrong proficiency with modern JavaScript or TypeScript and a component-based frontend framework such as React\nProficient in one or more development technologies: we mostly use React, Java and Kotlin, but there is no specific language requirement\nExperience with: web development and frontend architecture, cloud-based microservices, and/or event sourcing\nExperience with server-rendered or hybrid web frameworks\nFamiliarity with web performance, accessibility, analytics instrumentation, and SEO fundamentals\nExperience with software engineering best practices such as automated testing, monitoring/alerting, continuous integration, code reviews, etc\nExperience with production troubleshooting and on-call\nTenacity to get things done and enthusiasm for learning in an evolving problem space\nNext.js experience is strongly preferred\nExperience working with Kubernetes and containerization\nExperience shipping cross-platform apps, especially: iOS, tvOS, Android, Mac, and PC\nInterest in creating fun experiences around cycling, running, and overall fitness\n\nBenefits\nPerformance bonuses\nEquity\nA full range of medical, financial, and other perks and benefits\n\nCompany Overview\nZwift operates an online fitness platform used to transform monotonous solo indoor cycling into dynamic and social adventures.
