HealthRIGHT 360 provides an array of medical and behavioral health services to some of the most marginalized populations, ranging from primary care, mental health services, detox, substance use disorder treatment in both residential and outpatient settings, and transitional services for the criminal justice population.\nAsian Drug and Alcohol Prevention Treatment (ADAPT) is an adult outpatient program that provides culturally competent substance use and mental health services in English and Chinese. The AARS Project ADAPT offers a strengths-based, trauma-informed, harm reduction approach. Services include individual, group and case management services as well as acupuncture and access to free cultural/recreational events. We also have free community lunches and encourage developing supportive relationships and community. Our goals are to provide a safe and respectful counseling space for people from all walks of life and to reduce the impact of substance use and mental health conditions that lead to healthy, meaningful lives.\nThe Substance Use Counselor II at Project ADAPT works with a interdisciplinary team to provide substance use treatment, assessing client needs and strengths in support of health and recovery. The SUD II Counselor provides individual, group counseling using evidence-based curricula in accordance with program specific requirements (Drug Medi-Cal) as well as case management to assist clients in navigating systems of care and connecting to community resources (e.g. vocational, primary care, housing).\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES:\nIndividual Treatment Responsibilities:\nMay be required to carry a caseload of clients and facilitate weekly individual counseling sessions with each caseload participant. \nProvides clinical support and evidence-based interventions to support clients in meeting their treatment goals.\nProactively links clients to both internal and external resources based on their treatment needs and follows up on their progress/status.\n\nTreatment Setting Responsibilities:\nFacilitates group counseling sessions, community meetings and teaches classes on various treatment related topics.\nPerforms crisis intervention and communicates with treatment team as unforeseen situations arise. \nPlans and facilitates client celebrations and special events.\nAttends required trainings and meetings related to their position.\n\nDocumentation Responsibilities:\nCollaborates with each caseload client and other available internal and external resources to develop/maintain treatment plans, transition plans, progress notes and appropriate updates in support of the health and recovery needs of the client.\nProperly documents all aspects of treatment including services and treatment planning in accordance with HIPPA and Drug Medi-Cal billing compliance requirements. This includes completing all consent forms, authorizations to release information, individual and group counseling sessions, discharge paperwork/process, and required assessments in a timely manner.\nMaintains accurate records by data entering documentation into various electronic systems for all caseload clients in accordance with guidelines established by HealthRIGHT 360 to satisfy internal and external evaluating requirements.\n\nAnd, other duties as assigned.\n\nQUALIFICATIONS:\nEducation, Credentials, and Experience\nRegistration with Drug and Alcohol Registration recognized by Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) such as CCAPP, CADTP, etc.\nHigh school diploma or equivalent.\nMinimum of one year of counseling experience with individuals suffering from substance abuse.\nFirst Aid certified within 30 days of employment.\nCPR certified within 30 days of employment.\nValid California driver’s license.\nExperience working successfully with issues of substance abuse, mental health, criminal background, and other potential barriers to economic self-sufficiency.\nExperience providing individual and group counseling.\nExperience with clinical documentation (treatment plans, progress notes, etc.).\nStrong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word, Outlook and internet applications.\nDesired\nBachelor’s Degree in related field.\n\nKnowledge\nKnowledge of co-occurring disorders and trauma informed treatment.\nExperience with harm reduction and evidenced-based practices (e.g. CBT, Seeking Safety, DBT, MI).\nExperience
